Finally.

I’ve been waiting for this change for quite a while. Tim Cook has obviously been incredibly successful from a business and operational point of view, but over the last few years Apple has started to feel increasingly stale to me. The products are still excellent, but the sense of excitement, risk-taking and genuinely surprising ideas seems to have faded.

I’m hoping John Ternus can bring some fresh energy to the company and start a new chapter. Not necessarily by changing everything overnight, but by being a little more ambitious with the products, taking a few more risks and giving us reasons to get excited about Apple again.

It will obviously take time before we see what his Apple actually looks like, but for the first time in a while I’m genuinely curious to see where the company goes next.

Ternus hasn’t been CEO for 24 hours and Vision Pro’s on ice and Schiller’s out. Tell me that wasn’t his shadow at work all summer.
Officially day one. Unofficially, he’s been running the place since April - Vision Pro and Schiller are the receipts.

The best CEO moves are the ones you make before the title’s on the door.

Schiller is out -- hopefully the rest of the C-Suite has the fear of God pushed through their veins.

The last few years have been unacceptable to say the least. The constant lawsuits over pity things, "the environment", the software bugs, and the staleness is not acceptable. The number of people leaving Apple to go elsewhere is unacceptable too.

Yep, you expected no software bugs? The software wasn’t fine, imo.

What staleness?

The number of people leaving Apple to go elsewhere is unacceptable too.

The number of devices exceeded one billion far outweighed the number leaving Apple, which would be nice to quantify although I’m not holding my breath.
