Not being waterproof and having to plug it in every night makes this thing impractical for everyone except the most devoted Apple fans.

Some of the straps are nice though, so Jony can be happy with that.

I'm personally not all that interested in the :apple:watch, but wow, the complaints have gotten REALLY silly now. I mean, you seriously think those two things are deal breakers? are you kidding me?

Fugliest iPhone yet.

First time that makes me really want to put a case immediately.

thats funny because this is the first iphone since the original model that i actually want to carry naked.
The form factor of the original iphone was perfect, the beveled edges made it really feel like it belonged in your hand, like it was an extension of yourself. All the hard edges of the 4 and 5 series we beautiful from a design standpoint but was just awkward to hold. The 6 is a throwback to the original.

I swear some of you people are absolutely rediculous. You wouldn't be satisfied if God showed up at your door and said, "Servant, well done."

If I remember right, when both the iPhone and ipad both came out, many of you were ridiculing them much in the same way as you are doing the Apple watch. A year from now, apple will have sold millions of these things and you all will either have already bought one or really changed your tunes about not buying one.

Such a joke! LoL

What many of you are so oblivious to is the fact that this is going to be the best 1.0 version of a smart watch that anyone will attempt. Apple always wins the 1.0 battle. The following devices always get better. You live and learn from the first to only get better as time passes.

Don't review this as a finished product. You can never review tech as finished products because if it were finished, there would be no reason to update it the following year. You review it for what it brings you at that moment. With what it does, does it do it well? Does it do it better than another device? Of course it's not perfect.

And it's not ugly either. It's just not round like many of you were hoping. Get a grip.

Fanboys. I handled the ipad. I knew the iPad. I used it. Sir, The Apple Watch is no iPad.

Jony just seems nervous and uncomfortable. I sometimes get the same way when put in the spot. Looks like he needs to tighten his watch band up though.

Ironic that we need to have bigger phones, only to strap tiny screens on our arms so we can interact with them.

MacMoaners.com

haha... amazing all these moaning people on this site.
Same crap happened with the first iPhone and iPad.... remind me how they turned out again ;)

Shut up moaning about something you have not even tried yourself.

Personally, I love it, and I had been skeptical of the idea. I still don't know that I'll spring for it this year (although I might), but I think they did an amazing job with this in every way.

Whats model do we think will be the entry level model ?

Watch

or

Watch Sport

Clearly the Sport.

Whats model do we think will be the entry level model ?

Watch

or

Watch Sport

Sport is the entry model.
It is lighter aluminum for weight. The Watch is the one with SS and Sapphire.

The naming on that is odd, it should be the other way around. SPort or Pro denomination usually mean it is better.

Hi,

i don't think some of you understood the comment Ivy made correctly about the "millions".

Lets look at the facts we saw till now. They introduced a base that they will launch.

To be specific 3 different types with 2 sizes. So far easy thats 6 different models. Now we saw 6 straps apple showed right now. They are all interchangeable on all 3 models.

This straps come also in different colors. Just the plastic band has 7-8 colors that i counted.

Now additional to that if you pay attention to the videos, they are not designed to must be together!. So lets say our 14 year old trendy girl wants a pink top strap and a blue bottom strap. Works because of the great locking of magnets there is no need to be the same strap.

Additional do you guys think this is in any form prohibited to be from a third party?

Hello china lets fire up our money press again and produced ANY KIND OF FORM AND STRAP WE LIKE. Paterns. Logos you name it.

Also we already saw a disney watchface. Hello Disney lets produce 30 more straps. New movie Michael Bay Transformers 18 straps.

It goes a lot into the collectible market. See SMART watches in the last 20 years. They are all easy swappable.

On top of that Apple did not innovate or do something never done before. But they combine styling and changeable system that is made for money printing like crazy.

Kids / Teens / below 30 Market damn even the 30+ market is there. Ppl buy more then one watch a year. And with this they have that combined with their already present infrastructure of apple gear. And in the time the sales slowly start to decline it will be September 2015 and we see Apple Watch 2 or whatever. And it will have the same mechanisms so we can continue using our 10+ bands and stuff we already had.

I bet my ass of in the time this thing comes out. The case manufactures will have hundreds if not thousand of additional accessories ready for it. That cake is DAMN big and everyone will want a pice of pie.

Thats why the comment about "Switzerland watch out" was there. This can change a lot momentum for the smaller watchmakers that already tried to be the collectible watch market.

Just my 2 cents. And yes if you look at the whole picutre (even without damn watch faces for 79 cent in the itunes store btw.) we are maybe talking about millions of combinations.

Regards,

Fanboys. I handled the ipad. I knew the iPad. I used it. Sir, The Apple Watch is no iPad.

Excuse me...did I day it was ipad status?! No...I didn't. My point is, people are making rushed judgements like they have done in the past.

Will there ever be an interview where people actually ask some tough/interesting questions about stuff Apple rather not talk about? The questions are always boring and uninteresting. And every answer is full with overemphasized positive words, it's always the same.

I'd love to hear Tim or Jony answer:

''Why is there still a 16gb iPhone model (why not 32?) while we can't upgrade the storage with a micro sd card?'' 12gb (actual usable storage) is ridiculous in this day and age, and don't let me get started on 8gb on the 5C and 4S.

''Why didn't you mention anything about battery life of the watch'' You brag about it during every MacBook, iPod and iPhone announcement, suddenly it's very quiet.

''What's your opinion on this ad now?'':

I think the iPhone 6 looks great ... but the watch, no, I can't believe this is what they've been working on.

Fanboys. I handled the ipad. I knew the iPad. I used it. Sir, The Apple Watch is no iPad.

Can you make a youtube video review of the watch? I assume you have it since you already know its limitations and capabilities. Please reply and link here when done!

I don't know if it's just me but I do feel Tim's way of talking, word choice and his posture looked plain or not genuine. It's almost like he's not comfortable showing us who he really was. Company like apple emphasize on design, and design is attitude, lack of attitude is a also a form of design but a boring design. I think that's what we're getting from Tim's era.

Jony's word choice "I think" showed he's not that confident with this new iwatch. When people are confident with things they do, they tend to say less of it.

The way all keynote speakers uses words like "thrilled" "incredible" etc is trying to avoid mistakes rather than trying to find a better word to describe the product, which serves that purpose well but gets really boring.

Apple have more potential than they need but somehow gotta find a way to unleash it.

Whats model do we think will be the entry level model ?

Watch

or

Watch Sport

The Watch Sport I guess, since it doesn't have sapphire and it looks cheaper. It's also lighter, so theoretically they could call that a sporty premium feature and use that as an excuse for pricing it higher. But I doubt it, since judging by its features it doesn't seem to be targeted at sports any more than the Watch. It seems like it's called Watch Sport because that sounds better than Watch Cheap.

The watch is apple's best work yet? Oh boy. That's bad.
You've got to give Apple credit for being consistently full of themselves. The number of narcissistic execs is fueled and reinforced by their legions of insecure, hero worshipping customers.

A legacy created by Steve that continues to this day. Much like a religion, Apple is unique within the industry, no other companies customers rely on their God for guidance.

When I read an Apple worshipper write that Apple builds products knowing what's best for us, even before we do, I laugh at the mentality. Jobs was a very influential person, the world's most convincing salesman, he left Apple well positioned.

:apple:Watch = iPad 1

The watch reminds me of an iPad without a camera. The Apple reps told me Apple wouldn't put a camera on the iPad because it would end up looking up people's nostrils.

So $349 to check your pulse (and share it with strangers cause you won't get your sig other to wear the thing.) The :apple:Watch 2 might actually come with something interesting. I'll wait.

For me Apple has already been going downhill like a year or so before Steve passed away (he sure had better things to do than care about the company til his last breath), and since that time, I've become way more analytical on Mac news sites and comments on them instead of just silently ignoring all the criticless deificating and praise for anything Apple ****** out.

And I have to say, this thread is a delightful experience here on MR. Whereas usually the first page(s) were nearly exclusively filled with the type of comments mentioned above, for the first time I saw openly negative to cynical comments outweigh the openly positive comments by lengths.

Looks like some of the die-hard fanboys are finally waking up and realizing what Apple is becoming now. And I think we need that. We need to have Apple nearly completely crash so they really have a reason to go out and find another visionaire who brings Apple back on track. Remember the 90s (though they had it easier back then as Jobs was just working somewhere else...).
I don't think the strategy they're currently running now - which is delivering little, praising much, and milking the cash cow even harder and faster than they already did - can work much longer.

Their mindless self-aggrandizement urges me to do a facepalm every time, though with all their "we'll always stay true to our DNA" PR nonsense I think at least some at Apple do exactly know what's happening (or are they doing it *just* to not have investors panic?)

I used to love Apple (though also critically thinking, unlike fanboys) and their products, but seeing how this company f*cks itself up more and more now makes me just want to cry. But the reactions I read here give me hope.

YouTube: video
Are you kidding me? Why anybody would even *want* an SD card on their phone in this day and age is ridiculous. I have tons of music and pictures and movies and files of various sorts associated with my company and I've never run into an issue with a 16 GB phone.

I hear you! I'm a die-hard fanboy of Apple Computer - but that company doesn't exist anymore.
