Dude looks rough! Just 2-3yrs from Apple n he looks like a prune! Maybe it’s the lighting don’t know but for a full day I didn’t even believe this was Ive
"I can't think of anything more personal, more specific, more individual, and more intimate than things being inside us."
I have respect for Ive but this is pretty freaky and quite frankly a little psychopathic!
Jony finally went full insane.. I'm not gonna put any tech inside me, especially not tech gadgets that I can live without. I once saw a spark in his eyes and kinda boyish enthusiasm that was very endearing. I don't recognize him anymore.
Also.. Have you all noticed that he wasn't wearing Apple Watch in the interview?
"I can't think of anything more personal, more specific, more individual, and more intimate than things being inside us."
I can't think of anything more intrusive, more creepy, more big brother, more loss of privacy and person than things being inside us.
But at least it'll be thin and light.
I saw the 14 and 16” pros. They don’t have any of Jony’s design DNA at all. For the better, at this point.
I think the only reason why he's been mysterious is that he's not very good with words so he's not speaking very often. And when he do speak it's a mess. As even this interview is an evidence of that.
He'd be disgusted. They built a functional machine that's not needlessly thin or thermally compromised or anything—it's like they don't even care about his legacy of form over function.
My condolences on the loss of your sense of humour. You’re blind. IVe designed the 2008 and 2012 MBP along with the original iMac, the TAM, and every iPhone up to the 11 series.
You really must be a new Apple MBP user.
I have difficult feelings about him for years. I once though of him as a nice, humble and brilliant man but not anymore. Honestly, I think he's insincere and a two-faced character.Lol we’ve had evidence with this on the extremely long introduction video of the TAM ! notice then he barely had a British accent, yet from the 2010-2012 Apple product videos thick British accent hmmm.
in what way was your post I quoted in any way comical/humourous? What was the tell that I missed? My condolences on the loss of your sense of humour.

Ive’s design sensibilities, while often really good, have had a running theme of making things thinner than they need to be, sacrificing things like battery life, durability, and thermal capability in the process. The joke is that Ive would be disgusted by the new designs because they don’t keep the obvious flaws found in the previous generation of machine, which I assumed was a fairly easy joke to follow since Ive is obviously a very good product designer and the physical design was clearly inspired by his past work.
Where I think you went wrong was that you apparently can’t stand a bad word being said about Apple or their products, whether seriously or in jest and appear to have taken personal offence. Lighten up, it makes the internet a hell of a lot more fun.
Ive left after Apple Park was built. He’d been hands off on design since the first few Apple watches.Ive has been designing at Apple for a VERY long time. Long before you think is just about being thin.
iMac OG
TAM Twentieth anniversary Mac.
MacBook/MacBook Pro of 2008, 2012 and 2016,
Newton yeah he designed that too btw.
Durability: I've never seen the hardware of any MBP being less durable aside from the keyboards of 2016-2020 models but that I doubt was Jony Ive's making versus the engineering team creating the Butterly keyboard to work with the slim design. Obviously that wasn't needed after their 4th try in reverting to a better keyboard in early 2020. BTW I don't see many users wanting or asking for bigger Macs from 2012 onward on these forums. Sure now a few owners of '21 MBPs state they don't mind but they too are not asking for thicker machines.
I think you make the assumption of what I can stand or cannot - you don't know a thing about me. I simply made a correction of truth that this years MBP design follow's VERY heavily of one of Jony Ive's previous MBPs 2012 model which a lot of people seem to have forgotten. Since Apple nor Jony have made official statements if he was/wasn't involved in the '21 MBP it's pretty easy to hypothesize he was involved to some extent. Yeah I can see the humour you've clarified but it's not obvious to me. If I took personal offence, my comment would've led me to being suspended.
Won’t that device be fun for the rabid fans who upgrade each year."I can't think of anything more personal, more specific, more individual, and more intimate than things being inside us."
