A better challenge would have been a redesign of a real classic Leica, one with easily used dials instead of screens and menus.

At some point nothing is going to looks as dated as screens and menus as designers return to analogue controls and ditch the dreadful digital interface.

The Ivy camera is indeed well done, but it is perpetuating the use of disgusting modes and menus and screens. Please, end the digital interface in all things as soon as possible.

Looks like a toy. Something you would give to your teenage girl to go with her new 5C

Though there is no picture of the top, I assume these is not shutter release on top. That's a huge failure for a rangefinder.

As for a charity one off, that's great. The reputation of the designers will make it sell for more then this design is really worth.

Spot on. I still think the m9-p is one of the best Leica models produced.

Loving the Leica design, however Apple product design is all form over function. The iPhone is a consumer product that is going to be thrown around, rattle around pockets and bags with keys and generally get treated quite harshly by it owners. So why oh why make the back out of anodised aluminium that scratches so easily. Please Apple but some of your huge R&D resource into designing finishes that not only look good but are hard wearing. That way everyone wouldn't have to cover your great look ultra thin phone with a plastic case. Is that not the worst insult that your product is so delicate that people have to cover it with a case.

Even worse, why design the original iPod with a chrome back that shows your fingerprints as soon as you touch it...very poor design IMHO.

The camera, which utilizes a sleek aluminum design, took more than 561 models, 1000 prototype parts, and 85 days to design.

Of interest...

According to the Ive interview in Vanity Fair, it took over nine months (over 270 days) for the entire design and production.

Definitely not someone you hire by the hour for a makeover :)

Now I think even higher of some of the industrial design guys I've known, who sometimes had only days to come up with a big redesign of our products.

Jony is the boss now, if there is a bad icon on iOS7 is Jony's fault, sorry, but that how the corporate world works.

The biggest company that has gone the flat design path was Microsoft, not Apple. Apple could have made so many revolutionary things regarding GUI Design, but it chosen to follow Microsoft path.

And don't tell we are better with a GUI not designed nor approved by Jony or other big executive at Apple.

I love Apple but we have to be fair.

He didn't design the icons. He didn't design a single graphic in iOS 7. When will people understand that? He's providing leadership and guidance, much in the same way Steve Jobs did. Steve didn't get behind Photoshop and start doing graphic design.

The people who designed iOS 7 are the same graphic designers who've been at Apple for years. They were just under broad leadership from a new person, and Jony likely made the final say on things.

And guess what? He made a lot of good calls. iOS 7 is a significant improvement. The sooner you people who can't accept change come to realize that, the sooner you'll start to enjoy the beauty and advantages in the iOS 7 design. Is it perfect? By no means. But guess what, neither was Aqua. It took them more than 10 years to refine the old design style to where it was in iOS 6. But they're on the right track with iOS 7, and its far more refined than Aqua was in 2001.

I remember people groaning and criticizing Aqua just as much back in 2001. Now they're groaning because Apple has moved on from it. Lol, people never change.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY.. Wait, how much?? Umm, I think i'll slum it with my ol' Fuji then..
