That isn't that bad of an amount. Large enough to get everyones attention, yet, with the aize of Samsung, isn't going to be too hard to pay off - not going to be fun mind, but not a killer amount.

And one more for the Fandroids.

Justice FAIL!

If you put a bunch of people to rule on evidence they don't understand then the way it goes is this way. Apple is an american company and Samsung is not, then Apple will always win hands down in the USA.

This case will of course find is way in to higher court and hopefully there will be some people with the basic understanding of technology that will struck it down.

There is after all a lot of prior works before I phone that invalidates this ruling, Apple them self have stolen the ideas. And the patents ruled upon in this case is a joke in general since its basic human interaction and normal usage of technology that for some reason the US patent office gave away like as much else the US patent office did not understand what it was for.

Only way this will play out in the end is that all customers on all front are the losers especially higher instances stand by this ruling. Because then all real competition is crushed and also no one can develop any kind of phones, computers or any other tech that is dependent on software.

So not even as an Apple owner my self would think this ruling is a benefit for us the customers or the general population of this planet.

May Samsung pay for all its criminal IP theft - SJ should feel happy wherever he is right now.

A thermonuclear payload UP YOUR ASS, Samsung - this is all you deserve.

I figure that Google is intended "evil" that Apple wants to wage war with. And Apple will probably sue them next.

My question is.. what happens when Apple destroys all iPhone look-a-likes, and has a monopoly?

Yes for a fair trial, they should of chosen a neutral venue. Somewhere in Europe. But of course Apple just wanted to win. I can't believe you can patent generic shapes and colours. Rounded corners and green phone icons...

Technically everything is made of atoms. So somebody infringed on God's design somewhere....

lol, the real winners here are the lawyers... even just 30% they're rich as bitches now.

For the '677 patent, covering Apple's trade dress registration of the look of the front of the iPhone, the jury found that Samsung did infringe on most devices, but again, not all.

Mm-hmm... okay...

For the D'087 patent, covering Apple's trade dress registration of the look of the back of the iPhone, the jury found that Samsung did infringe on some devices, but not all.

:eek::eek::eek:

It's bad for everyone, no matter what, but some are too blind to see. Let them celebrate... when they're paying $1000 for the next iPhone, which looks exactly like their current iPhone, the joke will be on them.

Why is this bad? These are not obscure software patents such as "internet test-taking method." They are brand-new ideas invented by Apple with the iPhone. Let other companies come up with their own original ideas and sell them.

Samsung's claims against Apple up next

'711 Patent on iPhone 3G No. '460 on iPhone 3G: no.
'711 iPhone 3GS: No
'893 iPhone 3GS No
'460: literally infirngement for 3GS: no
'516 No
'460 no across the board
