So I went ahead and bought one... I ended up buying a second... Enough said? No seriously, I love this thing!!! I do not understand why there is such hate for it. Both mine are flawless and beautiful and awesome to use. I am seeing probably around 6-7 hours of battery life. Love the touchpad. Love the screen. Love the keyboard. Don't know what else to say. If Apple is seriously aiming at 10 hours of battery life, maybe they can get there with some more tweaks to the OS. Oh,,, and no GUI glitches at all that I have seen. Assuming there are some legitimate bugs floating around out there, I hope these can be addressed with software and that we aren't going to see some kind of crazy mass recall...? Here's to hoping.

I'm assuming new.
[doublepost=1483316698][/doublepost]How are you going to make a thread yesterday asking if you should buy a MBP, to now owning two? No offense, but I would never throw around that amount of money in that short period of time for anything.

No offense taken... No regrets either.

Hey man, congrats with your purchase(s) :) I would be really interested to see if you still love the touch bar in a month or so, I mean it looks like a gimmick to me but I'm in no position to judge as I don't own one. If you still use it/find it useful in a month then you definitely made a good choice.

I can see endless uses for the Touch Bar once developers start taking advantage of it.

Yeah that's very true, I'm sure there are tons of developers already trying to figure out how to make it more useful/functional for every user. Maybe in a year or 2 is when we'll see its full capabilities?

My major issues with my 2016 tbMBP is the luck of a battery charging indicator and that everytime I plug it in or open the lid it automatically turns on.

These things really are pretty incredible machines. The industrial design and manufacturing prowess on display with this product is some of the best in the world for consumer tech.

I agree. Can you tell me why there is such hatred and disdain for it thought? I just did a Google search for 2016 MacBook Pro and it was page after page of hatred...? I am so confused. What exactly is it that people are so disappointed about?

Don't get worked up over it. My friend works at the Apple Store and believe me, these things are selling fast. The forums are filled with complainers, regardless of the product and when something new comes out, this is the way it is.

Most owners are pretty excited and happy with these machines. They're really sweet.

He hates that the machine boots or wakes when he opens the lid, although I can't imagine why he's opening the lid if he doesn't intend to use the computer.
LOL!

I've just never seen such an overwhelming hatred right out of the gate for an Apple product, and I've been a Mac user for 20 years. I mean literally almost every article that popped up on my Google search was negative. It's like everyone got together before this was launched and said ok we are going to blast Apple.

If you love it, enjoy it, simple as that. Main issues are around useability, battery and price. If those do not concern you, use it and don't get bought into the endless debates here about haters saying it crap, and owners who say it's the best laptop ever, truth is in the middle and personal preference.

IMHO usability is awesome, battery is fine (could always be improved), and yeah they are a tad on the pricey side.

I mean, there's a reason for the backlash. Even Consumer Reports is puzzled by the inconsistencies with the MBP's battery. There's only so much that Apple's software can push to extend it (I think the sizes went down by like 15-25%). There are also weird graphical issues, which I am sure you can find once you push your computer to use your GPU more than if you were to use it on a daily basis. Apple also pretty much shut out a lot of TB3 accessories, even though TB3 is the future (My dad's MBP couldn't recognize any of the brand adapters he ordered on Amazon - so apparently we should only buy adapters from Apple now?)?

Touchbar is pretty cool, screen and size are nice, keyboard is meh, trackpad is honestly too large. There are pros, but for people here who are plugging their ears and yelling out that these computers have little to no faults are delusional. There's a reason why when I went to purchase an Apple TV yesterday, 3 separate people were waiting to either have their new MBP's looked at, or returned.

Unfortunately for some, the days of Moore's law are over. Chip tech just isn't improving that fast. This version doesn't blow away past years versions. Everywhere I see where they could improve they did, SSD, screen, sound, size, etc. They traded better battery life for form and I personally like it. Usb-c is scary for some, new peripherals and change in workflow. People never like change. I do, especially when it's better. I agree, the hate is weird. It's a beautiful machine that we get to spend our days with. No, you aren't crazy for liking this.

Why did you buy 2 though?

The impression I've gotten is that people have such high expectations from Apple now that anything short of what they think is perfect comes as a disappointment.

I have a 15" coming at the end of January and I can't wait. As long as the touch bar is more useful than the regular function keys it's not a gimmick. I'm looking forward to how it will be incorporated in Logic Pro. I can already imagine several ways it will save me time: scrubbing to a place in a project immediately (since all the sections will be displayed on the TB), selecting different tools quickly...

The TB isn't even why I opted for the new MBP though. It's just a perk. I like how thin and light it is for a 15", and overall it's an upgrade from the last generation. The ports I'll adjust to, no biggie.

He bought two, since he knows one will probably get wrecked at some point when it hits the ground ...

Do you people live in a diferent parallel candy-made world?

Do you know most of the other laptops in the world doesn't have magsafe? I never dropped one.

It amazes me how people get all crazy because it doesn't has magsafe. Just like the rest of the ****ing world! Get over it.
