What do you mean by it's a bit laggy on the 9400M? I'm planning to get one for my 2.4 Macbook and I would like to know if it's a deal breaker or not. Could you give some examples.

I have it running with my 2.4GHz MB with no problems. The only issue I have run into is having to remember that after a power on or restart, I have to enable my bluetooth devices while the lid on the MB is open prior to putting the MB in clamshell mode. Otherwise, Finder will lockup.

The only thing I would change would be to allow the USB ports to be "always" on so that my iPhone could charge while the laptop was away from the display.

Still waiting for stores to get them in stock to pick mine up. Apparently they're back-ordered. :/

The box for mine looks great. Mine is an Xmas present from my family (although I bought and paid for it ). I keep telling myself I should open it just to make sure there aren't any issues with it, but so far I have resisted the temptation.

Wow...that's some restraint. I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to open the box...it's such a beautiful monitor both physically and the LCD itself.

Do it tonight. The box can closed after opening without anyone noticing. I re-closed my box, but the display is on my desk.....

Wow, you people are enablers...I guess I will have to wait until the wife and kids are asleep later tonight. :D

 and... why did you try to disassemble???

Must. Refrain. From. Disassembly.

Should consider checking it out. I had to return twice, they were both defects, your 14/21 day policy will be up by x-mas... just a suggestion...

The holiday return period is until January 9th.

Right now I'm debating whether or not to exchange mine. I don't really want to make the trip.

EDIT: Well I did an exchange and it's a bit better. It stll bleeds a little, but I'm inclined to think they're all like that.

Please advise~ How is it cosmetically? does it have any scratches on the casing? Does it have dot(s) of death?

So I finally got around to "confirming there were no issues" ;) with my new LED display last night. I can happily say that it is perfect. No physical issues, no dead or stuck pixels. :)

The one thing I notices was side by side with the new MBP it has much richer colors out of the box (it kind of made my MBP look a little bit washed out--my MBP has the LG display). On my MBP I was using a colour profile that I liked that I found on this board. The difference will bug me so I think I am going to have to calibrate them myself. That is a new concept to me. Doing a bit of research, the best reasonably priced product seems to be the Eye One Display 2 (I can pick it up from my local camera store of choice).

So I have three questions, I was hoping the board could help me with:

1. Is the Eye One a good product or are there better products at the same price point or lower?
2. Is the Eye One easy enough for a novice to colour management but is otherwise quite computer literate?
3. All of the literature for the product talks about calibrating one monitor, not two so that they look the same. I assume that the whole point of calibration is to make the monitor's color match a particular standard, so that if you calibrate both the same way with the same product, you should get the same look (acknowledging that it will not be completely perfect because the displays are different types). Is that a fair assumption?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to say but no matter how well you calibrate your mbp's screen it wont make any difference. The 24" ACD's are equipped with an H-IPS panel which are much richer in colors than all the TN panels of the mbp.

I remember when I had the 23" ACD which had a CCFL backlighting + an S-IPS panel and the colors always looked much more deep and vibrant even compared to the last gen and unibody led backlit mbp.

Just enjoy your cinema display and on your mbp you will probably almost never notice the difference in colors on the mbp on the go.

There is a small scratch now that I've opened up the casing up to check the panel. But that doesn't bother me.

And jjahshik32 is right; no matter how much I try to calibrate the MBP display it never will look as good as the LED Cinema's panel.

Ah~e c. I'm pretty picky, small dings does bother me. Mine had a deep scratch, and a couple of dead pixels. hopefully stores will have some this weekend:(

someone posted :apple: website now has it ship 3-5 as supposed to 7-10 b-days:D

Well, of course...the MBP has a TN panel while the LED Cinema Display has LG's newest H-IPS panel.

My order was place December 1, with overnight delivery. Still waiting for it to be shipped.... :( :(

I remember a thread where someone has posted a color profile of the new led cinema display using spyder2.. can someone direct me a link to that thread??

Hmm.. I already saw that review but I remember there was a thread where someone posted their ICC color profile that he'd done for the new 24" acd that you can d/l.

I posted a link before in a previous thread in which a member of the [H]ardforum made a colour calibration file for the 24inch LED Cinema display using the Spyder3. It can be found here. I'm currently using this profile as it improves the colour of the LED Cinema Display (although the default profile is not bad already, unlike the MacBook or MacBook Pro).
