MacBook Airs weigh 3 pounds the magsafe is got to be close to 12 ounces or higher. If anything, it too light.
I'm willing to bet it's not MBPs. If the Apple store doesn't have them yet--especially with an intel CPU shortage--there's no way in hell they'd let a crate of them sit at Best Buy for 2 weeks.
My dad's company did ship some to Apple stores. I don't think they can be macbook pros either

Indeed. Even if the box doesn't contain the MBP's, doesn't mean they won't coincidentally release them on Tuesday too, so there's still hope.
i doubt they are ipads if they can be opened on the 23rd. Maybe promotional stuff + something else?
I'm looking forward to the news about the opening of this box. And to the outrage when 140 new Airport Extremes pop out.

I don't see any major company, moreover Apple with its cult of secret, sending 3 weeks before the release a major product with a sticky on it "please don't open until..."... It's just... LOL

I'm looking forward to the news about the opening of this box. And to the outrage when 140 new Airport Extremes pop out.
I don't know of a way that we could figure out what is in the box even after the date.
Tell oyu dad to look for another job. Then have him open up this Apple box, and take pictures, get fired, and then work at Job2. Perfect plan if you ask me.
I just spent the last hour catching up on this thread, very interesting stuff goin' on. Kudos to the OP for putting up with the naysayers without freaking out about being called a liar on multiple times. I believe that these boxes are real, but I am completely confused as to what they are. It seems like they are:
* Too light to be MBP's,
* Too heavy to be MBA's or iPad's
* Too light to be MBA's or iPad's
* (Yes, I realize those last 2 statements contradict each other, but no one seems to know the weight of the packaging material [who would though...])
I was thinking, it would be hilarious if these mystery packages disappear this Tuesday without a trace and ever being opened. My older bro worked at COMP USA before it went under, and he said they received planogram material in palette sized packages often.
Tuesday will be interesting.

App Store submissions going crazy over iPad applications
Apple Stores reading for it
and so on and so on
and then they'll go:
'Lets just bring out the new Macbooks on the 23rd!'
if they do that on the next few tuesdays, no one, like the casual user etc, except fanboys that are mostly on here and other forums, will notice, because of 'one of their most important products' from Steve Job's own mouth, will be launching very soon
They are focusing all their energies into the iPad until it launches.
Remember when Leopard got delayed until October? it was because of the iPhone!
So anyone actually expecting updates to anything else in the next couple weeks, have a word with yourself

Can be also a alien conspiracy sending a massive destruction weapon disguised into an inoffensive Apple box... Think about it, it can be the world's end the 23rd. Hope Bruce Willis will save us preventing open this black box of hell.
