Just got a new 16 inch MBP M1 Pro. Should I be concerned at all with screen burn in?

Rest easy, screen burn-in is a non issue with MiniLED. Just so you know, Mini LED is just a regular LCD screen using mini LED as backlights. The main benefit of MiniLED over a standard LCD is that the much smaller LED size allows for a lot more local dimming zones giving tighter control over which areas of the screen stay bright vs. the areas that should be dimmed. For example, in a scene with a sunset, you the mini LED screen can analyze the picture and give the LEDs behind the sunset higher brightness for more impactful image closer to real life.

Screen burn in is an issue that impacts OLED screens (and plasma back when they were around).

Anybody else having issues with the SD card reader on the new MBP? I have several SD cards that the MBP does not recognize but when using Apple's USB-C SD Card reader with the same cards the MBP recognizes them no problem. Any ideas?

No problems with my M1 Pro 16" here. The only burn-in I got is a hole in my wallet from buying this beauty.

Not burn in, but there are other issues that can occur with LCD displays - like the image persistence and pink edges that developed on iMacs from the mid-2010s. However, there is nothing you can do to predict or prevent such defects, and they do not reveal themselves for many years anyway.

I do not think this is an issue with the new mini led screen. My last 15 inch 2017 laptop had a screen yellow discoloration issue that returned back despite changing the display twice. At the end, i decided to give up on repairing it again as I was warranty. Surprising how Apple skipped over this glaring issue with the old models and only provided free repair services for their faulty butterfly keyboards.
