Just got home from Apple Store, with a new MacBook Pro!

Just picked up one here in Vegas at the Summerlin location. Everything is top of the line except the SSD and even that's 1TB! Used my student discount -- pursuing my MBA -- and it was just over $3600.
Wasn't planning on getting the new MacBook Pro, since my '14 is maxed out. However stopped in my Apple Store today and they happened to have one....ONE... 15" Space Grey 2.9ghz/490/1tb MacBook Pro.. so naturally I had to get it. Pretty impressed so far. Definitely a bit snappier than the Late 2014, but the touch bar is craZy cool
Good to see people in the States have cancelled, reordered and still have expected delivery dates sooner than us in Europe.....
Also bought one in store today at the grove in L.A. Base 13 touch space gray. Canceled my pre-order that was due in another month.
So, after spending the better part of this evening stressing, my new MBP is... DEFECTIVE. The Touch ID is broken. Talked to tech support on the phone and they said it's defective hardware. It was the last one they had in the store, so I can get a refund or see if they can repair it. Needless to say, I'm a little miffed at the moment. For nearly $4,000, I expect the darn thing to JUST WORK.

Thanks! I'll report back with whatever I find out tomorrow. I will likely just head down to the store and see what they can do. I have to be out of town Friday - Sunday for business. So, I hope they can provide a solution tomorrow.
While I disagree with the abuse of the return policy.
I do agree with the color choice. Space grey is better. Far better.
I did. Im sorry. I was willing to tolerate a silver model and then today they had the exact model I wanted.
I'll never understand why people buy the "wrong" color only because it is available in store.
The the difference in color is a minor concern is my guess. If the color is still a concern later on they still have the option to take it back to the Apple Store.
Oh man, I chuckled and shook my head art the same time when I read this. Sorry about the long wait man...I know that stinks!
I suspect you will see lots of "abuse" of this policy so long as they are offering the product for sale online (and in some stores) yet do not even have them on display to see/touch before buying.
I'd consider going to one of my 2 local store but with no guarantee they have what I'm looking for in stock and no way to check online, I'll just wait the 2 and a half more weeks for it to come in the mail.
Yes even I would like to know if the Apple store in Kurfurstendam Berlin has any of the 2016 15" rMBP on display ? Or if the Frankfurt store has it ?
Bought it because my old macbook bit the dust on Monday and needed a computer ASAP. Couldn't wait to get the "right" color, had to have a computer and luckily they had a silver one, and fully intended to keep it, but when I went back to get a case, they said they had gotten a space gray in, I decided to buy it.
