I recently bought a case off eBay which includes the front, back and digitizer but I just realized that it doesn't include the LCD. Can I use the LCD that's already in the phone or is it glued to the front case?

The LCD is glued to the digitizer which is glued to the front glass. Just like the 1st-generation iPhone.

Sorry to duplicate, but I found this seller on eBay, and this back assembly looks complete and as close to the real thing and the iResQ one without costing at least $60.

The fonts look right and there appears to be a lens and diffuser, not just holes. For $19 shipped, this might just be the one to go with.

I have a hard time believing that it's oem for that price but it does seem to be quite close. I may have to bite the bullet and just order one

Yep. The seller gave me shipment notification last night, too. It's coming from Hong Kong, so I expect at least two weeks before it shows up. I'll follow-up with a post as soon as I get it.

Its a great find. Thank you! Please report back, good or bad.

I found this thread very long and helpful. I was planning on originally buying the white iPhone 4 since I always preferred white but when I found out the white was delayed, I started playing the waiting game. Eventually I got sick of waiting and tired of my 3G being so slow and boring, so I walked into Apple and bought the iP4 on Aug, 26th. I've been loving it ever since.

Now comes the help of this thread to my story. I saw that the OP's phone looked great and oem compared to all the knock off's and what not, so I checked out iResQ. I saw that the white back plate was on sale for $89 so I jumped on it quickly. I placed my order on the 5th, it shipped on the 7th and then I patiently waited for it to arrive on the 9th. UPS came and knocked on my door, asked for my signature and handed me my package. It was greatly packaged in padding and bubble wrap. And it really was a great part. I had switched out the back plates in under 2 minutes, quick and easy. And started to enjoy my white iP4. This is mine (when it still had on the plastic protector on from iResQ).

I then examined it and noticed that the camera lens was not flush with the plate. I also had white out pictures due to the flash which didn't bother me since I rarely use the flash. I didn't make a huge deal about it, but whenever I held it and felt it, it really started to bug me over time (camera lens, not flash). So i gave iResQ a call up and they were gladly able to exchange mine for a new one free of charge (except shipping charges back to them). I shipped it off on the 16th via 2nd day air, and they received it on the 20th (weekend). The very NEXT day (21st) I heard a knock on the door by UPS and received my package from iResQ with my new perfect white back plate. I didn't even have white out pictures from the flash anymore, besides a small portion in the bottom corner. Which made it even more perfect!

This picture was taken in a pitch black bathroom, you can BARELY see the flash problem in the bottom left corner

I figured I would give you guys my review and opinion on what you should do about replacing your back plate with a white one. I say you go with iResQ! You get what you pay for, no joke. People have come up to me asking if it's the real white iP4. I've been very happy and pleased with my white iP4 thanks to iResQ and their great customer service and quick emails along with shipping.

I'm sorry for the long read and big pictures, but I wanted to be as helpful as possible! Mods don't get mad please. Thanks for reading.

PS: I just ordered my free Incase Snap-Clear case from Apple so I can show it off! I'll post pictures with it on as soon as I get it!

While doing my conversion I accidentally tore the home button socket off. Everything else works except I can't use the home button. :( Do they even sell replacement parts for the IPhone 4 yet?

By the way the camera flash doesn't work well in low light.. in dark it sucks even worse... the flash completely bled into the picture... just like some cases do..

Well I just talked to a guy named Brad there at iresq.com on Friday. I told him I was having the white out effect on my iPhone 4 as well because of the flash. He told me that with their white backplates he has only heard of this happening to 2 phones. Mine was included in that 2. I told him about thatsnazzyiphoneguy and he knew who I was talking about I told him he didnt look like he was having any flash issues in the dark. Long story short I have to send the white backplate back and they will do a replacement. I asked him if they could test out the backplate before sending it but he said they didnt have a phone they could just do that with. So we will see. I put my original back on.

Hey guys, so I just found this seller on eBay who sells the white iPhone parts, and I got the back assembly from him and it included the flash diffuser. I have no problems with the flash clouding out the pics, everything worked great and the part looks great as well. Here's a pic.

Just thought I'd share that since I'm sure many of you would be interested. Also, did you guys notice that iresq is no longer selling self install kits or the white fronts, you can only send it in to them now. Clearly they're being greedy and want people to pay for the service, which is a ripoff because it's VERY easy to install the front if you follow a guide from ifixit or directfixs video tutorial. Just gotta take your time.

ALSO, a word of advice. For some of you who already got the back piece and think the flash might be clouding up your pics, first check to make sure that there isn't a little tiny plastic film covering the outer lens, because that will cause it as well. Most of these pieces come with a little tiny protector film over the lens, and it's almost impossible to notice, as well as being very difficult to remove without scratching the lens. Just a heads up. The back assembly from this seller will have that on the lens

Also, do any of you know the best place to get the front? Does any place have them with the ear grille on it as well? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it. I might just chance it and get one off eBay from another reputable seller with good ratings, there's one seller selling them for 119 but doesn't seem to include the ear grille.

Millah - That looks legit! I'm tempted to buy one. Is there flash leak around the flash?

I've got a bad feeling that it's a plastic back, not glass. The ad (at least as far as I could see) makes no mention of a glass back.

I know it seems too good to be true and probably is, but I asked through eBay and the seller is saying this is OEM and has a glass back. I went ahead and ordered it, figuring $20 is not too much to go on a whim. We'll see what it is like when I get it.

Did he give you any tracking information? And what part of the US is it shipping to? Thanks!

If he says it does, you can always get a refund if it isn't.

Even if you have to make a dispute, you can prove he said it was glass back.
