just installed iOS5, if you have any questions:

I mean this is kind of how it should work. ipad doesnt have sms. apple wants to replace sms. wants everyone to use their me accounts. sms is for cellular.

I let me dev account lapse foolishly but renewed it earlier this afternoon. Now just waiting on the all important email. My colleague already has it installed and i copied ios5 and itunes onto a USB so i could check it out as soon as i get my email.

Will post anything else i find here later.

actually the more i think about it, the more this is a good thing, id probably be annoyed as crap if i was near iphone and ipad at the same time and both were going off with the same message.

well ive got a golf digest subscription was hoping itd go in there but cant seem to get it to, oh well. beta 1, right? lol
 
I am installing iOS 5 on my iPad right now... I did a backup via iTunes before I started. The install told me it would erase my iPad and install iOS 5, so how do I put all of my apps and data back on using my backup? I've never done this before. Thanks!

once the the new IOS is downloaded go to App store click updates and click on purchased all your purchased apps will be listed on iCloud and you can download them
 
I'm also curious about any sort of improvements to the voice control. Although I'm sure there will be more stuff being released as more betas come out. But we might as well milk as much as we can from this first one.
 
emails arent showing up on lockscreen for me, and facebook isnt either, love apple's unreliable push notification system :/

Could be worse, I renewed my account and didn't realize that last step wasn't done until I went to get the betas. Turns out my account expires tomorrow and the email went to an old address. They guy at Apple told me he had updated it, but the email still hasn't shown. So my apps will be removed from the store :(
