Just ordered from ATT 6/20/09, what was the overall delivery time?

I just thought I would add my info. to this discussion since I have been following it for a few days now. I ordered two phones. One was a direct fulfillment order from ATT store. The second was an ordered placed online through ATT Premier website.

Direct Fulfillment Order:

Ordered phone (16gb white 3GS) 6/23/09 around 6:30PM
Phone Shipped - 6/26/09
Estimated Delivery - 6/29/09

Premier Order Placed on Website:

Ordered Phone (16gb white 3GS) 6/22/09 around 9PM

As of today, 6/28, the phone is still in processing.

I wish I would have ordered both phones directly from the ATT store.

Also, I live in PA.
 
YES! finally i got a tracking number and it may come tomorrow! ordered 16 gb white 6/23 and est. delivery 6/29.. cant wait to go get it before work! :D
 
Well here it goes, a time line of sorts.

Ordered 6/20 on ATT.com at 1300 CDT. ( I was on travel for work.

Order acknowledged 2 hours later on status web site.

It stayed in progress until 6/27 wher it said shipped. No shipping info though.

Then Suday morning 6/28 the shipping info shows up and also the date of ship being 6/26.

Delivery is slated for 6/29.

So it shipped a day before the staus website even shown it and it took two days for the tracking number to show up.

I hope that answers some questions for folks in the future.

It was a 32G black, it's coming from TX and it's presently in Newark N.J.

I live in northeast PA.

Is it faster to order in store and have it shipped to them than to order it online yourself?

I think so. It "overnights" to them but if you order on your own, it doesn't overnight from what it seems like. Good luck! Maybe you'll get super lucky and your local AT&T store will have em in stock. Or you can check on the Apple website and see if your local Apple store has them!

Hmm, here's what I experienced...

Ordered 16gb iPhone 3GS through ATT Premier last week on 6/23, afternoon.

Checked e-mail on 6/26 and received an order update indicating that my iPhone had shipped at 9:08AM on 6/26. This was around noon EST that I checked my e-mail.

I immediately tracked the package status through the Fedex tracking number provided in the order update e-mail, status showed it was On Fedex Vehicle for Delivery. Needless to say, got pretty excited.

1:28PM EST, Fedex driver rang the doorbell and signed for package. :)

Post-script:

Wife became extremely jealous of new iPhone, and after confirming that some of her medical software was supported on the iPhone, placed another order for 16gb iPhone 3GS through ATT Premier on 6/27. :D
 
By the way. I never got an email about shipping or anything else.

If it wasn't for me checking I wouldn't have known its coming and no one wouldve been there to sign for it.

Great. Don't depend on them.

Just checked my order again, now I have tracking info, it will be at the AT&T store tomorrow. :) I hope they don't drag their feet and wait till tuesday to call me.

Still did not get a shipping email.


I ordered a 16gb White 3GS on the 24th btw.
 
It seems tomorrow is another "release" day.

All the Apple stores around me show they're I. Stock.

Now I wonder if the revision of hardware build changed.

That's what happened when I bought current 2G phone a month later.

We'll see.

i wonder if my white 16 gb iphone 3g s will actually come to the at&t store i ordered from. it says shipped and with a tracking number and it says its in oakland from texas. and with a shipping date of 6/29 which is tomorrow. i cant wait to get it!
 
ATT must have lots of stock and turning the 3gs's around quickly now. I ordered 6/27 in the afternoon and my order already shows as shipped 6/28 with a tracking number. Whoohoo new iPhone in time for the 4th of July weekend.

Wow nice. Ill be ordering mine in the next few days, hopefully its that quick. All of the local AT&T stores are out stock and we have no Apple store (lol idaho). It sucks having to wait.
 
I'll add my story to the mix as well.

I ordered my Black 16GB 3GS the evening of Thursday June 25th from the AT&T Premier site for delivery to my home. This was a new service with AT&T (never had AT&T cell service before). Within 30 minutes of me placing the order, my debit card had a temporary hold for the cost of the phone, I was issued my new phone number, and my order appeared in the regular AT&T order status page as well as the Premier AT&T order status. The evening of Friday June 26th, the regular AT&T order status page showed my backordered quantity had changed from 1 to 0. Then the next morning (Sat, June 27th) I received an email stating that my phone had been shipped via FedEx Overnight, and it provided a tracking number (yes, AT&T shipped something on a Saturday :eek:). My phone is scheduled to be delivered Monday June 29th.

So I guess for all of you people waiting for the initial rush to be over, it appears things are settling down, as my phone shipped within 2 days versus the 7-14 days quoted when I ordered.
 
I don't know how I got it so fast, but I orderd a white 32gb 3gs on Monday afternoon, June 22nd with free second day air. It shipped on Wednesday and I received it Thursday June 25. Three day turnaround! I wasn't expected to receive it until the following week at a minimum. I'm in northern New Jersey.

Ordered 2 - 16GB Black 3GS' on Monday morning 6/22. They shipped from Memphis on Friday 6/26. Presently out for delivery 6/29!
 
Ahh, guys I have a question, I have been tracking my package and since saturday morning, around 6:09 it said "Departed FedEx Location : Oakland CA" yet I am getting no updates anymore, what could it possibly doing? If it departed doesnt that mean its on its way to my city (2 hours away)?

You gys think there is any change it'll be here today?:D

Placed my premier order on June 18th (32gb Black),
It went from recieved to processing, then back to recieved.
Still waiting.....
Shouldve never ordered online. I learned my lesson.
 
Just thought I would share my experience with everyone. I ordered the white 16 gb 3gs at an AT&T store in Boston on Friday the 26th. As of this morning it shows that it has been shipped and is expected to be delivered overnight. This is great news. I had no idea it would come within 4 days as they told me it could take 7-10 business days. I hope other people are having the same experience.
 
Ordered my Black 32 GB 3gs on Saturday the 27th. Scheduled to be delivered today by 3 at my local att store.
 
My phone is due to arrive before 3pm at the AT&T store.


Think I should give the store a call? if so what time? :confused:


Just don't want to wait till tomorrow if I can get it today.
 
Chaos, I just stalked mine via the FedEx site, then called the store as soon as I saw the package had been marked delivered to double-check that I could go get it. Incidentally, mine said it would be delivered by 3, but it was there by 12:30 :)

Sweet. Looks like mine just went out for delivery though. Says 11:35, so I guess I gotta wait just a tad longer than you.
 
Just wanted to let everyone know my saga is over. Phone arrived 1130. I'm at work so haven't seen it yet.

I hope the best for all of you and will still keep an eye on this thread.

Going by what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of phones vailable at Apple stores. That's probably your best move.
