Why pay good money to make everything look smaller and less legible on-screen?
Better to put the money towards a 24" display, for when hi res images are actually needed, leaving the 15" to perform more comfortably at normal resolution.
All LCD displays have minor variations that would mean my profile could possibly make your display look worse.
I know that. Right now I'm using a profile I found for the matching glossy screen (similar panel). Can I just try yours?![]()
LOL, ok....I was confused because the one on the left seemed to have a HR display (everything was smaller), but the one on the right seemed much darker in the first pic, and you said the new one was darker.
Can you can find out what panel you have by opening the terminal program in OSX and pasting the following command:
ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
and post the result?
Thanks!

could you please check for any backlight unevenness? I have 2 areas which are more lit up than other parts of the screen on my matte 17" i7 MBP.. I might exchange it for a matte 15" i7..
note: best test would be looking at a black image on full screen in a dark room.

@Alphaod
Could you make a fullscreen screenshot (cmd+shift+3) of the screen of the hi-res MBP on a website and a word document? I'm really curious on "how small" it is...
Thanks a lot![]()
Still waiting the damn Glasgow store to get them in stock!
Hopefully Monday or Tuesday..
