Ordered my 120GB OWC Extreme Pro 6G from OWC on Friday evening and it got delivered today, excellent service from OWC as I was reluctant to order from the US and I was not sure whether to go for this or the vertex 3

I will post back the benchmarks once I install :)

Will love to find out your thoughts on it, in particular the effect on Battery Life.

Ordered on Wednesday and suppose to be here tomorrow.

Just out of curious, which model of MBP you have there? =)

6G SSD?
Currently OWC only offers outdated SATA 2 3Gb/s SSDs. Compared to the vertex 3 they are ~ half as fast.

Lucky, ordered 240GB version last Wednesday, and I have no idea when they will be shipped out.:(

I never checked the search ;)
OWC has better international shipping, will probably depending on benchmarks et it instead of Vertex 3

I ordered a 240gb last week just waiting for it to come in. Last week it said 8 days to delivery. Now it says 21 days. Tapping feet

Post back with your thoughts! Thinking about getting the 240 GB in the next month. Check for hibernation/sleep issue if you could please!

So i'v installed the 120gb ssd and did a full restore from time machine and the performance is impresive, see below. my mac just flies now!!!!! :D:D:D

Those are ridiculous speeds. Does anyone have one of the new SSDs who had the standard Apple/Toshiba SSD prior? I would LOVE to see videos of load times between the two...

x2!!! My plan all along has been to upgrade to one of these monster SSD once the issues are worked out and put my existing into my '07 MBP (not sure if that'll work or not but I don't see why it wouldn't).

Awesome can't wait to get mine. Might just sell my Intel 510 250gb and get a Sata 2 instead for the optical bay in a bigger size with the money and the OWC will be the OS in hard drive space

Battery life is ok, i think iv lost about 30min but not sure because the time counter is going up and down!

just enabled Trim Successfully :)

Do you need to enable trim for these drives? I thought activating trim would cause problems? These drives have self regulating with recycling functions that remove the trim requirement? I guess if you start seeing beachballs you'll have to fiddle with it a bit?

Sandforce drives use firmware to attempt to mimic what TRIM does. I think the jury is still out on if it is as good as real TRIM at the OS level. My thought is properly operating TRIM at the OS level is better. You can install the TRIM hack and see if you have any problems. It is easy to back out the patch if you do.
