You do realize that I was not expected to be taken seriously by Apple.. This was some kind of senseless up-rise that I was expecting to cause some reaction at least in some other users in the same situation, guess all my frustration got built up and I just had to write them something and at the end some idiot at Apple should've read my words and if they're counting complains as they should even better. Thing is people is being trained to be passive, to not expect excellency or a quality reliable services from companies. To not DEMAND just obey. All is going to **** and we are becoming more stunned every day as the market dickslap us. I just made my choice and I'm not playing this game

I hate to tell you, but if they don't have 2012 machines being made already, even if they did care about your letter, it wouldn't do any good. They can't suddenly start manufacturing 2012 iMacs now and have them ready it 2 weeks. (Less, actually)

Damn, dude! That's a fail on an absolutely majestic scale!!!

My hat tips to you good sir for the... er, sarcasm!?!?!

I believe you, but obviously this other less erudite mob don't.

Don't worry, we've all stuffed up...

It's called a 'Rotsky', made famous by a poster on Fark.com but really didn't come off that way since it's not expected here.

Hi,i've posted this question on mini's too,so sorry to be repetitive, but why not to collect our voices in one petition?
Maybe will be useless,i think Apple just won't change their plans for our concerns, but maybe they won't be so gentle ;)to inform us,stayn vague,on Desktops state for the very next 2 months ( but i haven't so great expectations) but will bring them to know our waiting a little bit more.
I mean, are really they exiting the Desktop markets gifting this to the upcoming Win8?And Mountail Lion just for laptops?

It's obvious Apple only wants to produce Macbook Pro's and Macbook Airs. They want out of the desktop market, but don't have to balls to say anything about it.

So,why don't ask them directly?Even their silence would be precious for their competitors:D.
Lets make a try,its better than a mass mail bombing because of the great amount of email they are collecting daily.
We can mail together to the News sites to try to wake them from their Iphone sleep in order to make them ask on this situation, seeking for Mac news rather than just Itoys rumors. We can ask them " Dear..xxx..why don't you try to discover why Apple stays so silent on Desktops while still selling overpriced outdated 2011 machines?".
Just a naif suggestion.

Copy message to Apple support

I wish to add my voice to the number of people clamouring for you to announce something helpful about the long awaited refresh/respec of the 27" iMacs. Like countless Windows users, I am considering an iMac for the first time, but I am not going to pay today's prices for yesterday's technology. The PC market has now developed touch screen desktops that are begining to rival your own, at a considerably lower cost. I don't mind paying more for your product, but not unless you update it. You will lose my business and countless others if you do not do something very soon. I have waited nealy 9 months now with my money burning a hole in my pocket. Please, I urge you to act.

I can relate to the TS and the previous poster (davidfinchley), so I've e-mailed them too. If one can't make a difference, a collective can.. maybe.

I'm not assuming Apple will launch an iMac after these messages, but I hope it makes it clear they have to do something. Either some info that there's something coming, new priorities for desktop products or at least a price cut on current models, as they are getting outdated, limited configured (i.e. SSD options) and far overpriced...

Exactly what i meant,at least a price cut, lets try collective, lets see if the spider is in the hole.
Maybe this is a good place to start a collective petition

What I don't get is that people here are going on and on about the iMacs being held up for some reason. Reading between the lines of the news and rumors as far back as April, I've been expecting the next iMac update to be mid to late October. So as far as I see, there hasn't been any delay. Yet. I'll even predict it'll be on or around October 23rd.

It'll likely be an evolutionary update - no Retina displays, everything else brought up to state of the art. Optical drive still in place, although I think Apple will remain stubborn for one more generation and not upgrade it to a Blu-ray.

Now, if November rolls around and we haven't seen an iMac update, then people might start asking what the delay is.

Well... I pretty much called that one - although they surprised me with taking out the optical drive. It's not as major an issue on the iMac as it would have been on the MacBook Pro (where having to have an external drive is way too unwieldy), but I understand why they did it if you accept as a given that it needed to be more thin. (That said, I honestly have no idea why that's useful on a desktop machine -- marketing over function here -- not a good omen for Apple's future.)

Ok why all the crying over a mac pro? Isnt it soppose to be totally user upgradable? So why not buy a used one on ebay since basically you just need the tower and go crazy on the latest and greatest parts? Afterall you would save a ton and have exactly what you need with no mac tax. Less you think it only runs fast if you can pull it out of the shiny box from apple and it is like magic and should do everything you need. Just buy parts its a freaking mac pro thats what is made for.

Terrible idea.

No USB 3. No Thunderbolt. Dead on arrival.
