I like him, contrary to everybody else bashing him in the other post.

I like him too and was sorry to see people bashing him....

People hate him for being "smug" and "preppie"... I realize that these are "eye-of-the-beholder" kind of qualities, but can you really hate someone for these kind of things? I never "got" the whole smug thing either..... I don't think you could have gotten more un-smug during the whole Virus ad.... I guess some people just don't like the truth and so anyone that brings it up (or speaks on behalf of it) is just automatically "smug". Oh well.

Nice to see his lack of grammar, but it's just a blog post.

Also, I'm wondering how much they pay him, considering his statements of being paid well... ..i guess it is Apple...

The reason they pay him well is that they want to keep him happy doing it as Apple plans on using this ad theme for quite a while. They *don't* want to be forced to switch faces any sooner than they choose to. Also, everyone's saying that they prefer the PC guy. It's absolutely normal as he is the comic element in the ads. The PC guy is given all the funny lines. But those same lines make him look... well... less than god-like. You're not supposed to *like* the Mac guy. He's the captain of your highschool's football team. He's the class president and the prom king. He's all that and more, so you hate him, wish you were him and... buy a Mac. The efficiency of the ads is not measured by how much you like the Mac guy or whether you prefer him to the PC guy but by how many Macs the ads sell. And I think the ads are pretty good at selling Macs. So more power to the Face of the Mac!!! (He's good for my stock...)

Oh Gosh is this guy our version of the Dell Dude.

LMAO!! You just took me back! That is so funny! I'm surprised no one has brought that up....

But no. Justin is likable. The dell dude (though was representing a retarded company) had a kind of dorkiness that would frustrate me to no end (you know those kind of people that joke around thinking they're hysterical when they're not). And Justin has a career, whereas the dell dude is probably stealing car radios by now...

Ads

Why on earth does anyone care about such a trivial matter?
What difference does some actors presence within an Ad make?

future doesn't exist?

Oh Justin... You should be the first to acknowledge that regardless of the outcome of events, you've always got a 13 second do-over thanks to the Omega 13.

It is because the those ads that I seriously thought of getting a mac. The more I looked into it the more I liked it. I even went down to the apple store in Jacksonville, fl (4 hours from me) and Charlotte (3 hours away) just to talk to someone about them. Which I am going to be doing this sunday!! Yippee, no more windows (except at work:( ).

Yuck

That kid's an arrogant little twirp in those commericals. If he's a Mac I'd rather be an abacus. Blech.

Mesenger bashing?

I'm confused.... how is he arrogant?

I think some people just hate the message, or anything that reminds them of something they're not but wish they were.....

I don't see how he's not arrogant. The message from Justin always seems to go something like... "Oh you get viruses, oh, ouch, that sucks, because, um, I don't."

You know, on second thought, you're right, he's modest.

This is excellent news! I was so disappointed when I read the reports earlier. I like Justin Long a lot and I feel he fits the 'Mac' part very well. I can't wait to see the new holiday ads he was talking about. :D

As soon as I read that dudes response, I just knew some anal-retentive types would come along and bust on the guys sentence structure, punctuation, or some other such thing.

Holy Christ, people.. get a life.

Dude is posting on a blog, not submitting an entry into Encyclopedia Britannica.
