Nice stream...

I just remembered when that 'bug' thing happened to Mr. Bill Gates a while ago showing Win 95. Everyone was making fun of him, trashing him, etc... but since it is Mr. Jobs... no problem: it is funny, let's have fun and applaud... jejejeje... :)

Yeah, I was waiting for him to say, "Bill does this all the time, and if it works for him..." :)

Oh, and all y'all sharing via bittorrent or mirror, the couple seconds I was able to see at the beginning say something about do not rebroadcast, share, etc., I think. So don't get sued, ok?

Forget Win95 - think last week

Just check out the CNET site for links to video of Bill Gates' demos crashing mercilessly at last week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The difference between Bill and Steve is that 1) Steve is usually prepared with a very scripted set of actions that he has confirmed works and/or 2)like he said today, he has backup machines. He just switched over to another machine and restarted the demo in under 15 sec. That is prepared.

Though I don't think Apple would have a problem with it, I've pulled my BitTorrent access...sorry guys. :-(

I just finished the Keynote. I'll be honest, it is the first one I watched.

Steve REALLY knows how to put on a show. I've never found a speech so entertaining, and it clocked in at the length of a movie!

I would love to see one of these in person...quite the spectacle.

Thanks for uploading that movie for us

Welcome to the RDF

(I think that's enough posting for tonight for me. Y'all enjoy the show if you are still watching.)

OK one more

Short for "Reality Distortion Field". It's been said for more than 20 years that Steve is the primary source in the Universe for it.

Here's the Wikipedia take.

Like the ability to make you forget the comments made about flash MP3 players when the iPod mini was announced and almost believe that Apple created the flash-based MP3 player. :D

Do you think Dashboard's dictionary will contain that entry? ;)

Is that Al Gore chewing on gum in the audience during the keynote? tell me i'm not crazy.

check time 40:50 in the video stream. its during the applause after Steve shows how to straighten the sunset in ifoto '05

Nice catch!

Boom

Downloading the Keynote and watching it on my Mac is so much better. It is quick to jump to any part of the keynote and ..Boom.. you are there.

View the Mac Mini.... Boom
View the iWorks demo.... Boom
View the iLife '05 iMovie Demo... Boom

You have to love Apple! Apple will never die because of us. Us Mac users aren't realists, but idealists, we see the world for what it should be, not for what it is.

Forever Apple!

Yes nice catch dude! :D

I downloaded the keynote from the link provided about 1 hour and 36 minutes ago. I got to the 1 hour and 36 minute point and the file seemed corrupted... :( So... I think I have about 20 minutes of the keynote to view yet. I have yet to be able to find an alternate download source... Any ideas? Streaming from Apple's provided site doesn't seem to work.

Hey, the first time that the stock widget was shown, there was one stock shown going down and everyone laughed. Was that MS, I couldn't read it.

Indeed it was MSFT! Good for a laugh, eh? I was disappointed by APPL's showing for the day, but doing very well for the last year.

My question is about GarageBand, what interface did they use to get the music into the computer? I really enjoyed that segment of the presentation, the opportunity that GarageBand presents.

I wanted a new PowerBook released, but was very excited about iWork and its ability to use iLife, very cool.

Ahh... I see now... I didn't get the entire download! They must have pulled the plug in the middle of me downloading it! I thought the last couple of minutes seemed to end too fast! Good grief!

I can never understand people who don't understand the old axiom, "demo and die". Whenever I have to do a presentation, I have it on my laptop and tested, on a backup laptop and tested and burned to a CD. The Boy Scouts got nothing on me when it comes to doing a demo or presentation.

Well, trying to view the Keynote, but it no longer seems to be working on Apple's site. Every time I click on it, it opens quicktime and tries to connect, and then prompts me with "Quicktime Internet Authorization" and asks me for a username and password to connect to the Streaming Server.... Anyone know what this is about, or is anyone else experienceing this?

Aaron

Woah! I can watch it now! I wonder if they have it locked down to people with accounts on the Apple site?!?! I'm still able to open up the keynote now and go to where my movie had let off. Great! I'm not sure what they did.

I'm kinda bummed - I tried to download that high quality video - but as mentioned, it goes to the Bjork site

Apple doesn't seem to work
- any alternatives?

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED - THANKS GUYS

Microsoft's BSoD and got the keynote

okay - Apple is working again

if anyone has that high quality file, then PLEASE PLEASE let us know

THANK YOU

1. Here's a link to the Blue Screen of Death at the Microsoft thing:

2. I successfully downloaded the macworld_hi.mov file (400MB). But cannot use torrent from university campus, nor do I have a dedicated server. If someone would do all the hard work, and then email me at dalemox@gmail.com with the details of simply sftp uploading then I can get it up fast. And then hope Apple UK does come up country and kick my a&&...

That's all folks,
Dale
