Agreed. They are amazing in the office.

I work from home and take calls all day using my iPhone. I'd really like to ditch the cord and get these. What is the battery life like? Can you get through one day in the office using them?

It's an Apple product, it wouldn't matter what the quality is like, they will sell.

Only because historically Apple products have been of excellent quality. If this stops being the case, people won't associate the brand with high quality products, and stop buying "everything with an Apple logo on".

No, not with talk time. Combined, I get about 3 hrs music and 1.5hrs talk time. I think Apple rates the battery as 5hrs but my experience is that talk uses up battery faster than music.

Battery life is pretty good. When you're not using them pop them back in the case and they charge pretty quickly.

I initially planned on buying AirPods along with the iPhone X, but then Apple announced wireless charging capabilities in a future update. Now I‘m stuck waiting.

I hoped Apple would release it before Christmas, but I wouldn‘t bet on it at the moment. I don‘t really understand why they didn‘t release It right away. The only difference should be a metal coil in the case (haven‘t heard any other rumored changes).

(Yes I know, this is the definition of a first world problem. )

It sounds like you will have to buy the case separately anyway?

Optional wireless charging case coming in 2018.

I'm waiting to see if the wireless charger comes bundled when it's released. Can't justify paying for a wired and wireless case as well.
Yeah I’m waiting for the wireless charging case as well.

I’m hoping there will be a 2nd generation of AirPods released alongside it, but maybe it’s too soon. Black or space gray would seem likely, too.

I would love to see the black ones, I really don't like the white ones, at least how they look in ears. I'm pretty sure much more discrete black color would be appreciated by many. But I'm not too positive here as Apple doesn't give a crap about similar requests, because they always know what is best for you :-/

I live in NYC and only seen maybe two people wearing them out in public.

That's the opposite experience that I've had recently when visiting major cities like Hong Kong and Taipei. They are *everywhere*, ditto for Apple Watches. Ride the MRT in Taipei and it would be rare not to see someone wearing them.

And I can understand why - they're great. Super convenient, no wires to mess around with.

They can't keep up with current demand. It would only add to an overall delay and customer dissatisfaction.

I love the simplicity and design of the AirPods, but I think they are overrated soundwise (for the price). They let too much outside noise leak in.

There are plenty of in-ear headphones on the market and for some people, myself included, it's tiring to have headphones plugging your ear canal for anything other than a short period of time - so the open ear design of the AirPods is a better design imho. I've also got over the ear noise canceling headphones for when I actually want to block any outside noises and their sonic performance is going to be night and day better than any tiny in-ear headsets could ever hope for.

I don't currently have a dog in this fight, however I do plan to grab a pair of AirPods in the coming month to replace my cadre of single BT headsets I've been using (mainly from Plantronics).

They’d sell even more if they offered colour(s) other than white. Grey or black for a start.

Now, they need to make black ones.

I live in Cleveland, and see people all the time in public wearing them.

Yeah, I heard that speculation. But honestly it doesn’t make any sense to me. They‘ll probably sell the case separately for people who already have AirPods, but I strongly suspect that they‘ll also sell it bundled with new AirPods.
