That's $4 Billion in AirPods!

Yeah, Apple is doomed, TC must be fired, yada yada, y, yada yada.

Well, I guess I shouldn't hold my breath for a black version. If Apple did make them in black, it might even triple the shipment. I'll certainly buy another pair in black.

How about this KGI Securities giving some information on new Mac Mini's and other changes coming and when? Oh Timmy probably did not give them permission yet

It's not speculation. Apple has been unable to meet demand since it's introduction. How would adding a metal coil make this situation better?

The "delay" is much more likely to be due to the upcoming release of their own charging pad which will charge three devices at once. We'll see the AirPods wireless charging case, Apple will unlock Qi charging on the AppleWatch Series 3, and likely increase charging speeds on the X to 10 watts while leaving the 8 and 8 Plus at 7.5 when their charging pad is released. Then they'll be able to make all these "announcements" proclaiming the "all new" and "fastest ever" devices.
First of all, I don‘t see how your post has anything to do with my suggestion, that Apple won‘t sell the new case exclusively on its own.
Secondly, I don‘t see how Apple right now(!) has massive problems to meet the demand. Shipping times have dropped to 1-3 days in a lot of countries. This doesn’t suggest supply problems to me.

Maybe I'll get some for Christmas from the wife. After all, I did get her an S3 Apple Watch.

Any third parties make anything that will keep them in your ears...I mean, I know they work just fine in your ears, but for freaks like me.

Tan/Neutral skin tone in colour, I don’t see many manufacturers offer this. Hearing aid companies do. There is a good compromise between in-ear/plugs and earphones already on the market for a wired option. The EarPods design requires a refresh.

I think the reason behind those not being manufactured a lot is that there are a large spectrum of skin colours so just selling Tan/Neutral skin tone ones means that everyone that is paler or darker than that shade will not be able to use them (or just look plain weird). It’s pretty much like foundation, you wouldn’t use a shade lighter or darker because it would look off.
Besides people are used at seeing headphones/earphones with solid colours other than skin tones and don’t think something is wrong with that, but hearing aids on the other side are perceived as something people want to hide hence the reason they are made to match the skin tones.

People wearing these look like absolute fools.
They should come with a sign that says “I am sheep”

Actually, they are the sign.
I’m pretty sure people in their twenties or older don’t care so much what other people think... do they? Or maybe that’s a thirties thing.

Any darker tone compared to the white. If users were concerned about hiding these as much as possible, white is not the way to go. I believe Apple went with its iconic white to draw attention to it and the people wearing them are expecting some attention. If it was black or gray, it would resemble any other wireless product.

Maybe a clear, silicone cover that way it looks like ear wax :p:D

Im not surprised, I haven't seen any on the shelves in the Apple stores by me since they were released. Unless they keep them in the back?!? Haha

I tried these and they have excellent sound quality but no noise cancellation or noise isolation. I need that otherwise I have to turn the volume up to unsafe levels.

I’ve owned the noise cancellation Bose QuiteControl 30 wireless in-ear headphones for about a year and though they are nice the neck band is something to be desired. It doesn’t stay in the middle back of your neck. It constantly shifts heavenly to o e side or he other. It noise cancellation works well but having to adjust the neck band didn’t work for me.

I'm astounded by how well AirPods have caught on. I have a hard time keeping EarPods in my ears. There's no way I'd buy AirPods, for fear of losing one (or both).

I like mine a lot when they actually work properly. Too bad the sound stutters/cuts out whenever I'm listening to music and waiting at a crosswalk for the light to change. And when you live in a big city and get almost everywhere by walking, that's basically every other minute.

I live in NYC and only seen maybe two people wearing them out in public.

Ahem... Ahem... Not sure how.. but I've seen many people actually on the subway and walking on the streets in Manhattan with their AirPods during the usual rush hour and also on the weekends. Its not that uncommon as you think it is.

Was glad of my nice wired headphones for days like today, kept my ears warm outside. I appreciate that is probably a more useful feature in the North of England than it is in California. :D

List price for the Bose earbuds is US$249.95 versus $159 for the AirPods. Are the Bose that much better?

It's Bose, where the prices are even more magical. Hell, they're the originators of high prices for bad sound (with very, very few exceptions). Go grab a pair of Beats X for $99 and don't look back. At $150 they were overpriced but at $100 IMO an excellent buy and plays well within the Apple ecosystem (duh).

I work from home and take calls all day using my iPhone. I'd really like to ditch the cord and get these. What is the battery life like? Can you get through one day in the office using them?
I absolutely recommend you get them. They're worth it.

I'm in a similar situation as you. I'm on calls hours a day. The AirPods last about 2 hours on a call, but if they start to get low, put one in the case and charge it, then switch. Charge each one for as little as 10 minutes or for as long as you prefer. Being able to switch between left and right makes them last all day. If you have the case plugged in they will last indefinitely.

Once you're completely wire free there is no going back. They're especially useful for calls where you're on mute and can do other things like chores around the house.

Before the AirPods were released I was in the market for the Bragi Dash, but they got poor reviews for their mic on calls, which is obviously a deal breaker if our primary use is for calls. I've had no issues with the mic on the AirPods.
