I was seriously thinking about getting an iPhone X this year, but I'm rethinking the purchase and might just for a iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black instead.

Apple became so short-sighted now, they only think they could make a huge pile of cash with the X, but didn't think of the aftermath...

If the premium line is at 1300$, i won't buy Apple anymore and i refuse to buy a second class iPhone where every features is just cut by sofwtare and a few hardware miss... i will buy the top android for 800$..

They are greedy ***king shareholders, they really ruin everything

And Apple will have every image of the notch removed from search results under some form of corporate self-defimation restoration rule.

Two ways of looking at it, one is what everyone has said that Apple will not drop it’s price of their “premium” phone.

Or two the phone did not sell well as Apple wanted...half empty or half full.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new lineup if not then 2019 will be the year, as I am happy with my iPhone 6S Plus.

Decent hardware.

Lousy iOS (11).

I’ve become somewhat cautious when it comes to Apple products. Not spending more than $1000 on an iPhone that doesn’t perform well because Apple has stopped coding performant software.

Haven't pulled the trigger to upgrade to the X but my GF hates it as do many friends.
Always felt that It would be an overrated dud compared to past models... especially at the over inflated price.
For now I will keep rocking my lagging 6Plus w weak battery.
Staying that way for now.

I finally upgraded the 6+ and I am trying the X. First thing, go get yourself a new iphone. Its astounding how much more pleasant a fast iPhone is to use with iOS (p.s. my 6+ had a new battery so wasn't throttled) and the sound quality is HUGELY improved for voice calls. Second, it doesnt matter if you get the 8 Plus or X, the 6 Plus while functional is just so inferior to these new phones.

Issues I have had are the at the X is just NOT comfortable to hold or use without a case. Its too narrow so cuts into my fingers and its so slippery from glass. I also miss the wider screen of a Plus.

This would make sense. Keep the X line premium, especially when you still have plenty of other models to fill the lower end

Apple will discontinue the first-generation iPhone X when the second-generation model launches later this year, rather than bump the device down its smartphone lineup for lower than $999, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a research note obtained by MacRumors, Kuo said that Apple keeping the current iPhone X in its smartphone lineup for a reduced price, such as $899, would likely cannibalize sales of the mid-range 6.1-inch iPhone with Face ID that he expects to launch in the second half of 2018 for between $650 and $750.

An excerpt from the research note:If accurate, Apple's smartphone lineup later in 2018 would consist of the second-generation 5.8-inch iPhone X, which will likely remain $999, a larger 6.5-inch version dubbed iPhone X Plus, and the mid-range 6.1-inch iPhone. iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone SE models would likely remain available.

Superb and very wise decision by Apple!!
.
After all, iPhone X is the premium iPhone and a special edition of iPhone tenth anniversary. It is not just a typical upgrade. Its value should not be degraded. Glad to hear that. Fortunate for us who are able to afford, get and keep it for a long period of time:cool::cool::cool:

So he doesn’t know he’s just guessing. But every rumor site will treat it as breaking news fact.

He does have a reputation for being one of the most accurate Apple prognosticators on the planet, so I'd rate his predictions better than guesses. That said, by no means is he right 100% of the time either.

However when he speaks, insiders listen.

You like it but he and I don’t. Matter of opinion. We will find out soon if it was a success (that would be a shocker) or not.

I get the difference of opinion factor, it still doesn't give it just cause for calling it a joke right?

Just more evidence that the iPhone X was a complete failure.

This is evidence of a failure ? Um no. In fact its probably the opposite as Apple knows if they sell it at a discount it will cut into sales of the newer models.
