they should definitely get charged. i dont see where the sympathy is coming from all of a sudden, just because he apologized.

Hey lets not charge a killer with murder because hes sincere and really sorry.

anyways i dont know how the UK system goes, but given that its much more lenient than the US (to my knowledge) these charges will be sealed after they turn 18 (if you pay)

anyways these kids should go through hell for what they did, not a simple slap on the wrist.

I agree.

They didn't murder anyone, they (he?) willfully comitted criminal damage, so let's not get carried away.

Maybe, maybe not, but they should get in enough trouble to teach them and others, that going into stores and damaging their products is wrong and will not be tolerated.

anyways these kids should go through hell for what they did, not a simple slap on the wrist.

Again, I think "hell" might be a little over dramatic.

They should be punished accordingly to teach them a legal and financial lesson.

Its not the end of the world for these kids. They should realise they are in a unique position. They now possess knowledge that is useful and can be marketed. Listening to their apology can hear how they got swepted up in the hysteria and how this is so foreign to their normal way of feeling about themselves. This can be used to give talks to other schools and children. Even the prime minister might be interested in using them to tell their story. I hope their parents are understanding of how society can change a child or even an adult when mass hysteria hits the internet. Go make some money of your suffering by helping others to avoid the same pitfalls.

Any charge will always be on record. Now with the pedo files the UK have background checks called CRB and enhanced CRB. Any charges no matter how small will always come up. So if they go for a job in later life say 45 and a full CRB is done any charges they get now will show. It really could **** their lives over at some later date but they should not loose hope. They can use this to their advantage and to societies gain if they approach it right. A bad situation used for the advancement of society is what they should aim for. No time for tears. Just don't get mugged off working for free ;)

Yeah because taking someone's life and deeply scarring that persons relatives and friends for the rest of their lives is the same as bending a phone in a store.

Get real.

lol, its an analogy. And its about consistency of the law.

I'm just pointing out that even though its a minor incident compared to murder, consequences should still be carried out whether if its a small crime or a big crime.

if they dont get charged, wheres the consistency? whats going to stop other kids from doing it? nothing. they'll do it if all they think is they're just going to get scolded.

have them charged for vandalism (lol vandalism isn't going to mess up their entire lives, if they cant get it sealed) and have them pay for the phones. if their parents are smart enough they'll make them work for it, I'm sure they won't ever do anything of that sort again.

having them work for paying off those phones will definitely make them realize the value of a dollar, or pound in this case.

Well, I forwarded the details I discovered to Apple.
If Apple decide to press charges then good. If they don't then I think, it sends a message that they are not bothered and passively encourage teens to trash their stores.

your signature. Space is not grey. It would look silly Space and Grey ;)

Not their fault! This a result of irresponsible journalists specifically Lou from unbox therapy.

I'm going to assume you aren't though, for the good of my faith in humanity.

This forum really needs a sarcasm font that people use...

Well, it is their fault.
They decided to go to the Apple Store and bend phones.
Unbox Theory never said "go and bend phones at the apple store". At least Lou supposedly bought the iPhones before bending them (although I think he was sponsored by Motorola for one of them).

I'd bet that every 6+ owner on this forum is constantly looking at their phone for bends. Oh crap it was in my pocket, got to find a level surface. You know it's true. Oh and if you do find it bent, well you'll never admit it.

Yes that's so true. I can't stop looking and I admit it. But why are you bothered?

If I compare this to all the **** I've done in my teens, this wouldn't even hit the top 10 of the dumbest things I've ever done...
Everybody should calm the F down.
Kids do stupid **** all the time, that's why they're kids.

As a journalist in the spotlight YouTuber or whatever he is. He has a certain responsibility to make accurate and not silly videos. bending the iPhone with all his might was just plain irresponsible. Bending it in a real world test then okay. but bending It just to bend it cause this whole entire mess.

Wow, so you actually were being serious...

So you really think that if a guy makes a youtube video of him destroying his own personal property that he's already paid for... that it's his fault if random people go into business establishments and destroy property they dont own?

Can you at least enlighten us with your top 3? :D

The internet isn't anonymous enough for that ;)

Don't you get it? These are ****** teenagers. If they see grown ups smoke, they start smoking, if they see grown ups drink, they start drinking, etc etc... The point is, kids are impressionable, and if they're bored, they start doing stupid things they saw someone else do. They don't think sometimes.
Why do you think most countries in the world don't charge teenagers as adults?! Because they're not 100% responsible for their own actions. Because they are KIDS!

Lets just hope he doesn't use the Spirit Level App on his iPhone 6+, to help put up shelves. :D

Don't you get it? Even if they were 9 year old kids that still doesn't mean the youtube guy is at fault as it's not like he told the kids to go do anything. With your logic if I make a YouTube video on how to shoot a gun and a random kid kills someone then I'm at fault too?

Crazy logic...

Baby goats can bend phones, but I've never seen one in an Apple Store.

Children of 15 are expected to know the difference between right and wrong. At 15, they can be charged and convicted for criminal damage, and from their first video, intent to do it again.

Apple, do the right thing here, and press charges.

Where did I ever say that?! o0

Without Unbox Theory (or whatever) bend videos those kids wouldn't have done that vandalism. FACT!

The replies in this thread are so funny.

If Apple can track them down on there own fair play, but the police in London have far more important thingsto do than going after two little brats bending a toy.

Although Apple Staff say it is a myth, so which is true?

Names, school and other contact details already forwarded to Apple yesterday.
There's CCTV footage at the Norwich Store too.
