So iPhone go rounded to square and mbp from square to rounded?

The iPhone 11 could drop from the product lineup by next year in order to push 5G device adoption rate.
Apple is not calling it 11S, nor are they skipping to 12.

It'll simply be called iPhone and iPhone Pro.

iPhone mini will be released in early 2020.
You do not know that any more than anyone else around here - who really know nothing about 2020 iPhones.

Good! Some decent reception and a nicer sounding design where you may be able to actually hold an iPhone without it doing a wet soap bar impression...

if they make an SE2 with this design ideology and a Qualcomm modem, it’s a winner.

The iPhone 4 was by FAR the best iPhone design ever!

As long as it has a 5G Qualcomm modem, I'm in. If not, I'm sticking with the XS Max.

So Apple is now in the "Johnny Ive's Greatest Hits" phase.

Who cares? Most people never see the outer frame of their iPhone as they have wrapped up in a protective cover.
I wish I was as careful with using rubbers on myself as I've always been with my phones (6 kids).

The technology within the notch is also a lot more sophisticated than what the competition is doing. For me, I value security and convenience of FaceID over everything the competition offers.

The camera technology is now industry-leading.

The processors are now beyond desktop-class.

The new Super Retina XDR display is the best in the world.

Beyond desktop class processor?
Those chips will explode if exposed to x86 instructions. I don’t understand why people compare ARM to x86 architecture. STOP IT!

Meh, not excited for this. I personally think the iPhone 4 design looks dated, and the rumoured sizes are either too small or too big. Don’t care one bit about 5G, we hardly get good 4G coverage! Boring.

i don't think this means it will use the same design as the 4th iphone, but a step in that direction may actually be nice. the sizes predicted are bothering me too though...

This! I love the design, and if the rumors are true of a 5.4" I will be ecstatic.
I'm hoping that he's getting the size of the 5.4" SE 2 phone mixed up with the 12 Pro 5.8" phone. I don't want a phone any smaller than my current Xs and the 6.5" is just too big

So after the new ipads pro that takes on the iphone 4/4s design...now we will have iphone 2020 the same treatment? Very nice

iPad pro's are amazing looking devices. But they technically follow the iphone 5/S/SE design which to me anyway is somewhat different. Since iPhones need glass backs for wireless charging the iPhone 4 design makes more sense for the phones.

Either way pretty excited to see how it turns out. Maybe bye bye bezels?

The thought of a more substantial redesign next year makes it a tiny bit easier to keep hold of my Xʀ for another 12 months!

those processors are NOT beyond desktop class and will not perform well at all when exposed to 86xarchitecture. The X chips are good for a ultra portable but those are specially for iPads at the moment. The iPhone specific chips are good but not enough to power (nor will it ever) a desktop. don’t comment on something you know nothing about.

So they’re going to appease SE fans and alienate everyone who likes a 5.8 screens and make them take a 6.1 inferior product or an oversized 6.7 phablet?

Apple could have at least left the Max 6.5, it’s the biggest I’d go. I don’t want a tiny 5.4 screen. I don’t want the bottom of the line screen and product either.

They are the "best ever" every single year, so that's a pretty safe bet. lol

It's a relatively safe bet, but it's not a certainty. An awe-inspiring amount of work will go into making sure the next iPhone is the best ever. Let's hope they deliver. If Apple does not deliver, I will be the first to call them out on it.

"don't comment on something you know nothing about", while simultaneously boldly you claim "nor will it ever" as if you can predict the future perfectly.

These chips are already powering desktop-class applications on iOS. They could easily service the demands of macOS, and Apple will indeed prove that in a couple of years if rumors are true. Ultimately the future of the Mac is iPad, so these arguments are like arguing over the merits of VHS over iTunes 4K UHD.

I highly advise you to do some reading about ARM and x86 instructions!

It may not be your intention, but it’s a little embarrassing...
There is a reason Apple will never use ARM as a primary chip on their MACs. It’s like running UNIX on wood.... :D

Looking forward to next year's models with Qualcomm radio, iPadOS equivalent, more DRAM and base storage, no or smaller notch, in-screen Touch ID, pen support, better ultra wide camera quality, etc.

The iPhone 4/5 is my favorite iPhone design ever so I hope they go back to it. I like the beveled sides as opposed to the fully rounded sides of other iPhones. I liked the buttons on the 4/5 as well.

Thanks,
Bye

Apple could adopt the numberless scheme that they use for the iPad and computers. But would the 2021 versions be called iPhone and iPhone Pro, too? Apple relies on the number suffixes to differentiate each year's crop from previous releases in buyers' minds to spur sales. I think this would cause confusion in the marketplace for their #1 selling product.

The 5.4 either gonna have face id and smaller notch or only fingerprint under the glass and no notch
