Touch ID doesn't require any specific angle, Face ID does.I use FaceID on a 2018 iPad Pro and it works perfectly. It even works in the dark.
Perhaps you need to re-register your face, and try again.
TouchID doesn't work well if your finger is wet.

Maybe, but I doubt this is a concern for Apple. Look at the cases they are selling now, with huge cutouts at the bottom that expose the whole lower edge of the phone. If that's an acceptable look to them, then what's one more hole?
You mean, like the scissor-keys that they dumped and then brought back? 😉Hard to imagine Apple going back to a feature they previously dumped—adding cost, complexity, and redundancy, thereby putting pressure on profit margins. And we all know how Apple will go to extraordinary lengths to protect them.
I suppose we should ALL wear masks to prevent our iPhone's from unlocking (never mind using the passcode) Afterall, the flu is more dangerous than the coronavirus and MORE people have died from that in the same time frame. And that is annual...every single year...everywhere.Face ID is not working well in China or Asia now. People wearing mask to prevent coronavirus and need to risk their lives to expose their faces to unlock the phone.
hard to tell at this point seeing as production hasn't started yet.Does anyone know if this Coronavirus will delay production? Businesses are shutting down everywhere in China, wasn't sure if anyone knows if Apple will be affected?
Presumably, Apple have a virus proof eco-friendly bubble village for all of their employees?
Im not sure how anyone on MR forums could answer your question, unless they can predict the future.Does anyone know if this Coronavirus will delay production? Businesses are shutting down everywhere in China, wasn't sure if anyone knows if Apple will be affected?

Now that the iPad Air 4th Gen. has been announced with Touch ID in the power button, I really hope this phone comes to fruition. An 5.5" Edge to edge LCD display, Touch ID in the power button, A14 processor, and 4G LTE priced at $399 would be nice. I hope we hear more about this rumored phone soon, otherwise I'll have to cough up the bucks to get the 5.4" iPhone 12 for $250- $300 more.
