I think the Apple glasses are going to be an awesome product!

It would be really cool to visit museums and have the glasses give you information on museum pieces or art that you’re looking at and history about them.

National Parks would be another great place where the Apple glasses could give you information - almost like a guided tour while going through the park!
Yes, thats why AR is so important...i already love and cannot live without my AR MBUX ....is like you go from manual windows leaver to the auto, or from manual AC to auto

I hope new iPad models will get either Face ID or on screen Touch ID. Touch ID button feels antiquated, especially since iPad is much more frequently used in landscape orientation.

Agree, however, the face-id implementation of the current iPad pro's is awkward when in landscape orientation. You have to often move your hand for it to see you and you don't always remember which side it is on immediately.

Sorry but I don’t see “affordable price points” and “iPhone SE strategy” pointing to redesigned all screen design iPads. I think these will iPads will keep Touch ID.

That would probably follow true what
Apple stated iPads will continue to keep touch ID, especially if it falls in line with Dan Riccio (VP of marketing) stated in 2019 that touch ID still has a place for future products.

That said, unless Apple has a different course-plan of how they will implement touch ID, maybe under the display at some point To replace the physical push-button style.

I am not sure why Apple insists on putting front facing cameras, Face ID sensors array/Touch ID button, and rear Apple logo in landscape orientation.

Aside from games (designed in portrait orientation) and reading, everyone in my household almost always use iPad in landscape orientation.

iPad mini with USB-C and 4GB RAM: I'll buy it.

No USB-C, only 3GB RAM: I don't pay $200 on it!

I replaced my 2018 iPad 6th with a 2020 iPad Pro 11", to connect an external USB-A pen-drive to the iPad 6th I needed to plug the iPad on the power at same time, whereas on the Pro I just connect the pen-drive, it's much easier!

But Kuo states these will be “affordable” models following the iPhone SE strategy, which really means the cheapest models in the lineup.

I do agree the iPad mini 5 is one of the two models here, but I don’t think the second model is the new Air.
A 10.8” iPad Air 4 would be more affordable than the 11” iPad Pro.

This dream would cost ~$600, it seems the new iPad mini will cost ~$400, so not a Pro version, just a bezel-less version with Touch ID on-screen (or on the side button?), no ProMotion, no 6GB RAM, no quad-speakers!

Let's hope it has at least USB-C, 4GB RAM and supports 2nd gen Pencil! And keeps the sharp 326ppi screen! Stereo speakers with one speaker at each side would be great! And a single 12MP rear camera!

Tim Cook unveiling Augmented Reality device at Apple?

How about you solving the problem of producing notch-less iPhone 12 before launching the iLens.

As a fan of a midsize phone, I’m really looking forward to the 5.4 inch phone and 9 inch iPad mini. I don’t quite get the use case of the glasses. When Google glass came out, I told my students that I couldn’t see anybody without glasses choosing to wear this product. We wear contacts so that we don’t have to wear glasses. And yet ironically Google glass wasn’t made for people with glasses. Apple could come out with a terrific use case, but I think these will be more for professionals in certain industries where access to information can be shifted from their mobile device to their eyes.

I will never get the criticisms of the notch. It’s an elegant design, solves multiple issues, and is done in a way that looks nice while adding screen real estate rather than subtracting.

9" ... mini? We're getting close to the original size of the "regular" sized iPad.

Also, as an owner of a Google Glass, if Apple does come out with some copy-cat, I REALLY hope they make it easier to change the battery. All the "guides" I've seen on replacing the Google Glass battery involves destructively ripping off the plastic side.

I personally find it very inelegant. It’s not a deal killer, but it’s annoying.

I personally would love the non-pro iPads to have an iPhone xR-like design with rounded edges (but no notch), or at least for them to retain the tapered edge of the current iPads.

And I'd also like them in more colorful guises, also like the xR.

I think I saw a mock-up of something like that in an earlier thread.

Regardless of all that, looks like this and/or next year are going to be exciting!

Hah, just yesterday I was wondering about when Apple was going to come out with a new iPad Mini with smaller bezels and larger display. I got my daughter a refurbished 10.5" iPad Pro for her to do schoolwork on and draw with my old Apple Pencil and my son got her old iPad Mini 2 and while setting it up for him I remembered how much I liked the Mini. I might like to get a new Mini at some point to have a smaller device to kick back with or travel with sometimes. I have a 12.9" iPad Pro that I love but it's a bit big. I love it for some things, but holding that slim little iPad Mini again outside of their chunky kid-proof case was refreshing. I have the smaller iPhone Pro so the bigger size is noticeable. I kinda wish they made an iPad Mini Pro as well, but without the extra camera and such to keep the price down. I just want a better display, USB-C, Apple Pencil 2, etc.

I don't get the point of a 10.8" iPad at all. Are they reducing the bezels on the Pro and will take the 11" up to 11.5" or something? 9.7, 10.2, 10.5, 10.8, and 11" is a bit freaking ridiculous. I get eventually upgrading the iPad Mini to 8.5-9" but they really need to decided on a size for the mid-sized iPads and just standardize it for crying out loud. I'm of the mindset that they should have a 13.3" iPad Pro with reduced bezels to match it to the MacBook Air (Pro is probably going 14.X" in the next update). Then have the mid-sized iPad be the 11" in both Pro and cheap models, with the difference being the features, quality, etc. Then have the iPad Mini at 9".

ANYONE SEEN THIS FUTURE AR VIDEO? ITS TOO REAL

That would be REALLY cool.

I think there would have to be a way to configure it in the Settings so you don't get bombarded with info like in the video, though.

Something akin to how you have Notifications or email filters today.

It's cool to see that aside from the flying cars and hydrated pizza, our tech exceeds the one shown in Back to the Future 2. ;)

I've no interest in those potential iPads... unless they offer something substantial beyond what the iPad Mini 4 and iPad 6th gen can do.

As for Apple glasses, I'd be very interested except for the fact that Apple will ensure that they are obtrusively attention-seeking like the AirPods. :) But it would be terrific if Apple were to bring some breakthrough technology that would accommodate those of us who wear prescription glasses.

The 10.8” will not be a Pro. It will either be an Air or an entry level iPad.

Why is this any better/different than Google Glass? Everyone crapped all over that when they came out. Suddenly everyone thinks the same product cranked out by Apple will be amazing.
Sez who? Personally I suspect it will be fairly useless, at least in its first few iterations.

Same here. At this point in time it's just an entry to an off-topic and gratuitous Apple bash.

The 10.8” size screams to me a size that can utilize a full size keyboard with 18 mm key spacing but which does not have enough bezel space for conventional Touch ID. The bezels would be slightly bigger than the bezels on the 11” Pro but still pretty small.

That means it would have either under-the-screen Touch ID, or else Face ID. That’s why I favour this being a mid-priced model, aka the iPad Air 4. However, I cannot rule out the possibility this is an entry level iPad with under-the-screen Touch ID. An entry level 10.8” iPad definitely wouldn’t have Face ID though.
