I like how people get offended when a report like that comes out.

This guy has been spot on (and provided the best leaks) day in and day out. And yes, Apple, just like any company, makes forecasts , which may or may not be accurate. They could have overestimated, they could have underestimated, it happens.

In your opinion.
Same thing was said every iPhone launch.
Just go into the iPhone 7 preorder thread and see for yourself.

The iPhone 7 was a massive upgrade in raw horse power over the 6s. That is not the case with the Xs, which is barely 15% faster than the X. Easily the lamest iPhone upgrade in history.

Yes in retrospect.

No one said that during the preorder.

Go back and check for yourself.

How much many units did the iPhone 7 sell again?

Seriously though every year, every launch, nothing changes.

I upgrade every year. Ordered the XS and expecting it on Friday. My daughter will get my X, and I will sell her 7+ (which was mine two years ago).

Been using this strategy for years.

I’ve also owned every watch. Daughter will get my Series 3, and her Series 2 goes to the good friend who bought my original Apple Watch. I’m going to keep the original. Doubt I would get much money on it, and I’ve always regretted not keeping my original iPhone. Or the iPhone 4... I loved that design!
I can take the Apple Watch original off you if you want
I have a Fitbit Blaze which was a gift and have never used an Apple Watch
Would be nice seeing how it works For a decent price

I have the X, and I'm waiting for the Xr. The Xr will have the best battery life overall, and it's not worth an extra $250 to me for OLED and dual camera...and this is coming from a display snob. The Xs Max is too big, in my opinion, unless you carry your phone around in a purse.

The XS Max is the same size as the plus models. Monday-Thursday, I carry the plus model in a suit jacket / blazer pocket, and Thursday-Saturday, it fits fine in a front pants/jean pocket.

I had the 7 plus, and it was too big for my front jeans/pants pockets. I guess it all depends on what brand you wear. But hey, if the Xs Max will work for you, go for it.

Depending on workload, the speed improvement is much more than 15 percent. Benchmarks don’t yet take into account the value of SOC modules other than the gpu and cpu.

As a former Plus user and future Max user, I have certain pants/jeans where the Plus was not the most comfortable fit when sitting down. And no I'm not wearing super tight pants/jeans.

Don’t know why everyone using an X was waiting for something to upgrade to unless you’re after something bigger or something to boast about.

With a six year support plan it’s quite clear Apple are playing the long game here.

Minor improvements, shifting product line. There is something for everyone, except those with small hands...
I have small hands, bought the Xs Max. The X was honestly already a little too big for very comfortable one hand use, so I gave up and decided I'll go totally 2 hands and use the bigger screen for better content viewing.

I’d Say apple has a great lineup, probably, the best one, but people who already have the X have very few good reasons to upgrade. That’s the biggest problem for apple this time around.

Unless you somehow need 2 sims or bigger screen ....

I think apple is counting on that too.

I think people will notice just general difference between OLED and LCD display, not the PPI count. When I look at 7 plus that’s what I notice. Colours are different, but I don’t look at it through a microscope.

That’s also true.
I need/want the bigger screen. Only reason I am upgrading and unless there is some absolutely insanely useful features in 2019-2020, I’m going to hold off on upgrading until my AppleCare ends.

I completely agree. While I can use my X with one hand, I wouldn't say it's a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I'd rather use the largest screen with two hands comfortably.

No Apple pay and now, no EKG in Germany.

No need to upgrade my watch...

Still blows my mind that they didn't add this feature for the rest of the world , I mean without this and seeing that it has the same battery life , add a few more tweaks and a bit faster watch doesn't seem a worthy upgrade at all atm.

If you take Apple at the word, per the keynote, Schiller said that the XR has the highest quality LCD screen of not only any iPhone but any smartphone ever. Resolution is important but there's more to screen quality than just resolution. We'll just have to wait and see until DisplayMate gets their hands on one to find out.
Resolution is not the only important item, but it makes up a high portion of a screens usefullness. The resolution on the screen is subpar, period.

Different countries have different laws about medical devices. Typically some government agency has to approve them, sets conditions on their use and marketing, etc. it will take time to get clearances everywhere. What is shocking is that they actually managed to pull this off in the U.S.

Can the human eye detect higher than 326PPI?
Most definitely. Text is much sharper, which is very pleasing to me. You can CLEARLY tell the difference between an iPhone and say a device with a 1440p screen. That is, if you’re paying attention to detail as I do.

Too be fair not that shocking since the U.S is the "beez Neez" in the eyes of pretty much everyone and hey it's their product first and foremost the problem is EUROPE is always treated like the secondhand citizen same thing happened with the AppleWatch 3 Celluar fiasco with the e-sims only being available in a handful of countries yet again..

lol. Europe’s regulators are famously brutal. There’s a reason Apple can’t get this stuff to consumers on day one in EU countries. They can’t get through the red tape.

So funny, every year folks in these forums whine about various things on the iPhone. Yet it still sells fine.
Here's why, if you want iOS then you suck it up and buy whatever apple releases.

So the Xs is not selling as hoped. Watch Best Buy and others offer $200-250 gift cards toward buying a Xs this Christmas. If so then I am in.
