I get 25% off of Apple products through my company which enables me to get a little bit more money back than what I paid for the previous model. If I didn’t get that discount then yeah I’d also have to shell out an extra $100 or so, which still isn’t bad to have the latest and greatest.

Honestly... the “Always-On” is pretty cool. I really like having the display always showing. Never realized it was something I’d want.
Gotcha. That makes sense. I'm going to hold off on the 5 and not realize how much I've missed the AOD until I do finally upgrade.

How about a diver’s watch edition for Watch. Make a bezel around the outside I can adjust with my finger. The date should be large And the hour and hand glowing in the dark. A diving strap.

Even if Apple did improve water resistance to 100M that still isn’t worth using while scuba diving. Should get 200M for that.

S6 better have new health features plus better battery for cellular or not upgrading. Also bluetooth assist: don’t like waiting forever because my phone is just in range of my watch and it won’t switch to WiFi.

100m is not good enough? so, you and how many other people actually scuba dive to 328' depth? Wait for the 200m version so you can take it down to 656'......and see if the watch leaks?

Battery life is key for the next one. This must be holding some people back or them selecting competition such as Garmin.

If new sensors mean more tracking/fitness information/options/live info, then I agree.

Just bought a Series 4 44mm yesterday at Best Buy for $329. Haven't opened it. Should I return and wait for this?

Except series 5 wasn’t faster than series 4, and there are other aspects to this report besides chip speed anyway. Do macrumors commenters ever get tired of posting the same dumb comments on every single Kuo article?
Nope. Most MR rumors posters only make snide remarks and jokey-jokes for likes. If MR removed them the quality of posts might improve.

Has the AW hit a plateau? What is the next thing...

It’s matured very quickly, but it hasn’t plateaued. For it to ‘plateau’, means that there can’t be any other in future improvements such as health/innovative concepts. The Apple Watch is just getting started in terms of offering new technology with displays like micro LED will be here, glucose, sleep tracking, etc.

Does it though?

My S2 was just painful. The only thing it was good for was seeing messages/emails/notifications. That's about it. Anything beyond that was just too damn slow. Now, it's worth a damn. I can actually do stuff again. I can also leave my phone and just have my watch. Love that feature.
Agreed 100% - Just upgraded from a S1 to a S5 last week, and I'm really loving the performance. With the S1 it was a pretty slow experience, with multi-second delays to do most things. The S5 is basically instantaneous to respond, and the slightly larger screen feels like a real step-up from the smaller S1 size.

Highly recommended upgrade, and it's going to be fun to see what performance gains (and new features) come out with the S6 next year!

Funny that being faster is even a feature worth talking about at all considering I don’t really even use ANY third party apps. I really just use mine for the basic built in functions. And for that, I could still have an s1 and it wouldn’t matter. There’s only so many use cases for something in watch form
