And this is why I recommend an Apple Watch Series 4 over a 5...unless it's imperative that you need or want always on display.

As much as I love my AW5, I think I’ll be jumping off the Apple hardware train soon. I personally think the price of their hardware is climbing to fast with the yearly upgrades.
Considering the latest iPhone 11 Pro, AirPod Pro and now series 5 AW, Apple think putting a pro at the end of a name makes it worth the increase.
Their hardware is quickly becoming to expensive to be invested in it.

Why in the name of God would you want a True Tone on the display size of a post stamp?! Sharper?! Hmm Im not an expert but if you feel the AW screen is not sharp maybe the eye doctor :)...

Well. I’m not a fan of blue glare. As for pixels, the watch UI makes a lot more use of thin lines and smaller font sizes: Simple watchface. It makes it look cheap and more like a computer screen.

We need an Apple Watch upgrade program like the iPhone has. :)

iPhone 11 didn't become more expensive with the name change to Pro, the original AirPods are still available at the same introductory price of $159/199, and the Series 5 Apple Watch never added the word Pro.

But you want to switch to another manufacturer you could probably save some money; there are other options, and many or even most are less expensive and than Apple.

100m is not good enough? so, you and how many other people actually scuba dive to 328' depth? Wait for the 200m version so you can take it down to 656'......and see if the watch leaks?

You are correct. Recreational compressed air scuba diving limited to 40m, and diving deeper than 12m requires incremental levels of advanced training and certification.

Nevertheless, dive watches are rated at least 200-300m. Some dive watches rated >1000m. For people that actually dive with them AND rely on them to track critical time at depth to avoid decompression sickness, a massive depth rating safety factor becomes more understandable.

But, AW is not marketed as a dive watch, as of now anyway.

Is there something wrong with the sleep tracking apps now? The ones that even work with the series 0?

If I were a serious diver like that a serious purpose built watch would be a no brainer.

Apple watch series 4 is plenty water proof, but it doesn’t work consistently in water. You are meant to interact with it out of the water, not under water.

When you say ‘design tweaks’, what do you mean by that? What are you indicating that they should tweak?
I'm no industrial designer. A little slimmer profile would be nice, it's just a let-down when there's little to no design change like we've been seeing on the iPhone for the last three years. The spec update years just tend to be a bit lame, like the jump from Series 4 to Series 5. Always-on display is cool, but it's not an upgrade worthy feature.

add a front-facing camera for video calls and Face ID

Try holding your Apple Watch to your face for like 3 minutes or so. Try to simulate a conversation, sing the National Anthem or something like that.

See? It's incredibly inconvenient. That's why the AW doesn't have a camera.

I didn't think I would like the AOD feature. After using it for a week, I am sold. It makes using the watch so much nicer, versus my s3 which I always had to tap, seeing how the wrist raise didn't work half the time. Granted, it doesn't get 36 hours like my s3 but, it last a day easy and I am fine charging my watch every night.

I am happy with myAW5 and from what I can see nothing in AW6 that would entice me to upgrade. Only thing would be substantially better battery life which I highly doubt!

That's a fair comment. I don't personally care for video calls.

That's a pathetic comment. I would like something better than passcode authentication. I want device security and in-app security. To even suggest that how things are is how they will always be is ridiculous.

These half baked incremental updates are wasteful and just money grabs.
You know they're not expecting everyone to upgrade every year, right?

I decided a ways back to finally upgrade my S0, and I'm really glad I waited the few extra months for the S5 instead of getting the S4. Always-on was something I'd always wished the Apple Watch had.

I already do that when I take calls on my watch.

Feel the same way. Didn't think it was a huge upgrade but now it's unthinkable to go back to not having it.

After the S5 that’s welcome news.

+ how many people have water damage in a current AW? Seems like a weird thing to focus on.
Unless the new apple watch can be used as a depth gauge / dive computer, when skin diving or scuba diving. In which case it could be disruptive for the high-profit sector of dive watches.
