Don't forget:
"What's the point?"
"Who will buy this?"
"It has a camera sensor 1/16" smaller than the iPhone 18. What a joke."
"It has a processor with a binned GPU. Nobody will buy this."
"Why doesn't it have Stage Manager?!"

Etc
Oh yes, and all the other variations of ‘if I do[n’t] like it then it is[n’t] good’…

5.5”? Excuse me? That makes no sense to me. That is way too small. The iPhone Mini was 5.4”. I’m hoping he is dead wrong on that front.

No Face ID doesn’t sound right either.

Foldables have already been done. Got any new ideas, Apple? Selling a foldable for double the price of the competition isn't very creative.

$2,000.00+?!

Or, you could purchase 64 TCL Flip Pro "folding" phones for $30.00/each from Amazon.

“Notably, Kuo says that the phone will forgo Face ID authentication, instead using a Touch ID side button as a means to save precious internal space.”

But but but everyone on MacRumors insisted this was a niche product!! smh
Well it is. Next time you are out in a public, take note of what phones people are using and see if a single one of them has a folding phone. Personally, I have yet to see a folding phone out in the wild, and I travel often.

It will be a niche product, just like every other foldable. I can go days or weeks without seeing anyone with a foldable, and I work with a lot of very high-earning people.

There is nothing wrong with it being niche. It's not for me, and I personally don't think smartphones are useful enough to be priced $1200+, foldable or otherwise, but many people do. A small set of those people will spend $2000+ on a phone.

Apple seriously needs to implement No Returns unless defective for this foldable. That will limit the amount of low rate “influencers” buying it, reviewing it and then returning it.

Did they not learn with the Apple Vision Pro that people are bit done with paying stupid prices for little benefit?

I doubt it will lack FaceID; if the future iPhone Air can integrate it in such a thin device, so will the foldable.
Beeing the flagship Apple device it can't lack one of fundamental features of modern iPhones.

At the same time I see a problem with the location of the FaceID camera.
Where do you put it to be ale to use it both folded and unfolded?

No Face ID? That would be a real shame and a serious downgrade. At this pricepoint it‘s a bummer.

Either it’s $1,999, or it’s DOA. Aside from influencers and posers, there’s no way anyone would buy it when they could get an iPhone and an iPad Mini for the same price or less.

If it goes beyond $3K, it’ll just sit there collecting dust on Apple Store shelves—just like the Vision Pro.
Honestly i think it will sell pretty bad at 2k. 1499 starting price seems more in line with pushing the new tech to people. I think they know how bad the headset they made is selling with its price and wont make another bad decision on pricing for something new.

I'm glad I didn't have a desire for it anyways. No way I would pay anywhere close to that for a phone.

A $2000 folding phone makes me think that Jonny Ive has snuck back in through the back door.

There are already really excellent folding phones available. Apple seemingly not content with poaching ideas secondhand, now it'll be fourthhand by the time Apple turn up - and knowing Apple, v1 will be swiftly replaced by the next 'amazing' thing. Anyway, as Apple fold is released, other phone cameras optical zooms will be hitting 20x, and no bump. Apple users can expect that in another 10 years.

I predict the complaints will be the lack of software features for multitasking/ multi-windows.
I do see that one popping up from time to time already, so yeah, that’s going to be a popular one, I think.

How long do you reckon it will be for someone to complain that they can’t run macOS on it?
