I’ll take an island any time over touchidI don't think Apple knows what to do with FaceID in terms of enhancement, and they certainly don't have a compelling alternative so we're stuck with an ugly island.

Folds are neat, I like my Pixel fold. I hope that everyone is prepared for the crease, it's part of the package so to speak. No getting around that. But the extra real estate will be killer as long as Apple doesn't do something dumb like make it a sub-OS like iPad OS.Sadly I will get this if it comes out, I think Foldables are so cool and just have been waiting for Apple to do it.
I can’t speak for them, but personally, I find Android unreasonably irritating every time I have to use it.What's on iOS that's so sticky for you?
Those measurements make absolutely no sense at all unless he's referring to its thickness.Kuo says that the foldable iPhone will measure between 9 and 9.5 mm when folded, and around 4.5 to 4.8 mm when unfolded.
I live heavily in the Apple ecosystem as does my family and most of my regular contacts (iPad, Mac, Watch, smart home, Apple TV, etc) and value the synergies across devices afforded as such. Too many compromises switching to Android as my primary phone at the moment. What's on iOS that's so sticky for you?
What's irritating to you? I've found that using my S25 ultra instead of my 16 PM was quite the opposite experience as a newbie to Android- it's a breath of fresh airI can’t speak for them, but personally, I find Android unreasonably irritating every time I have to use it.
I am not wealthy enough to buy a AU$2700 folding Android just to muck about with, nor do I have the time and energy to learn my way around that irritating OS.
I can’t imagine what it would take to force me to use it. Unless I’m given one for free, in which case it would be a rarely used toy, I guess.
Very curious about the “creaseless display”. Many promised, none delivered. I’m not sure it actually is possible with current technology.
could be, 2025 will be the 17, 2026 will be the 18 and 2027 will be the XX (pronounced twenty), perfect sense. Same way they jumped from 8 to X.if in 2027, will it be called iPhone XX?
I think Apple would do something smart and lean into the crease -because, let's face it there WILL be a crease. But to the point folks here will say it's a differentiator because Apple makes it look like the crease of the book or some such thingIt won't be creaseless, apple will just say it is and people will believe it.
Or they'll market it as some feature like "dynamic valley" or somesuch, spruiking how it's a natural ledge to rest your fingers. 🤷♂️
if this is accurate it's basically an iphone pro and an ipad mini in one, if they can really deliver on no crease it may well be worth the $2kThe price of this phone will be too much. People can easily buy MacBooks at the same rate. Also, Apple took years to release it when users are mot likely to invest in this design.
In term of bill of materials cost it essentially 2 phones sandwiched together. You're not sandwiching two phones together. It's just a bigger display. This isn't like fusing two m-chips together. You also seem to forget at this point, this type of device is over 6 years old. Is any other folding phone two phone fused together? Nope.
Pixel 9 Fold’s and Galaxy Fold’s ideal configs in addition to many other flagship-class foldable Android phonesWhich ones are $2000?
Facts. At that price, the only clamshell device I need is a MacBook.
Hopefully a big price decrease with the second generation that brings it close to Samsung’s offering will be the result. $2.5-3K is too much. Let’s not even think about what Europeans will be paying.Apple's biggest flop yet
Maybe they will miraculously find a way to add FaceID with the second or third generation alongside a big price cut.No Face ID? That would be a real shame and a serious downgrade. At this pricepoint it‘s a bummer.
They can't deliver on no crease. I'd take a large bet on it.I remain skeptical about the no crease claims in this rumor and that's a deal breaker for me.
I would tend to agree with you. I've previously wondered if them not being able to eliminate the crease has been the sole reason they haven't already released a foldable device. They can't deliver on no crease. I'd take a large bet on it.
I think you're right. On one hand we all expect that if anyone can it will be Apple. And a crease is a compromised bridge too far I'd imagine. If they can figure it out though, it's gonna be amazing. One thing I'm not seeing much talk about, but that I love with my S25 (and my S24 before it) is stylus support. If they can make it so you open it up and use an Apple pencil that will be sick! I wonder what the cover screen would be...I would tend to agree with you.
