Not really... Here's a graph showing prices with tax in US (CA) and UK and NL:

fB685hg.png

So the iPhone Pro base model is only $54 more expensive in NL and $84 in UK. With today's exchange rates.

*Update:
Here's the data:
US-CA
$ 999 Apple's Price
$ 77 CA Sales Tax
$ 1,076 Total

UK
$ 1,084 Apple's Price
$ 217 UK VAT
$ 1,301 Total

NL
$ 1,054 Apple's Price
$ 221 NL VAT (btw)
$ 1,275 Total

So even without sales tax the iPhone is still nearly $100 more expensive here in the UK. All the phones are manufactured in China and shipped out to various countries so base prices before tax should be the same.

I hope they keep the midnight green as a permanent color from this point forward and add it to other devices. Would love a midnight green macbook or ipad.

I miss the original sandy champagne gold before they made it orangey/pink.

I never really understood the obsession with iPhone colors. I got a blue XR last year, but if all they had were black or white, I would have still bought the phone. You can always just stick a case on the phone in whatever color you like, and I always use a case with my phones. So, just not a big deal to me.

The FaceID sounds like a small thing but it'll be a blessing to me. I'm an iOS dev and if I'm working on a phone app it'll be nice not to have to lean over to look at the phone each time I want to unlock it.

Exactly - one thing I miss about Touch ID was table top unlocks, those haven't been easy with Face ID, even though I'm a fan of it.

My feeling is Apple could re-release the same phone every year in new great colors and people would buy them up in droves.

Now, the camera improvements (over a 7 plus) were the main selling point for me, not the colour.

That said, that Midnight Green was - IMHO - gorgeous, and helped a bit with the decision... ;)

I see all colours - except Gold - are in demand, so "Green _is_ the new Gold".

I like the green. But a LOT of people buy the new colors so that everyone knows they have the NEW iPhone.

On this topic, I don't believe Kuo has ANY real clue !

Tim Cook (himself) has very-likely been throttling delivery times to "Control the Narrative".

For Kuo to base his predictions on delivery times, (to me) simply means Kuo fell for it !

And in this case, Hook, Line, & Sinker !

Since I use my phone and not just mindlessly stare at it I am good with constantly improving internals that are best of class every year.

I know people prioritize phone looks over function (ie color, design, camera bump) but I will never really understand it. For me the power and usability of the device is like 98% of what is important and what it looks like 2%.

I use my phone too and improved specs really have been meaningless to me the last few years. It still lags, stutters, slows, crashes, etc. the same as the phone of the prior year and also still does tasks the same otherwise. That's regardless of brand. Using a phone 18 hours a day, sometimes more, I get bored of how it performs, it becomes mundane. I end up appreciating what it actually looks and feels like since it's the thing I'm staring at and holding.

So minus tax $2271 AUD

2271*0.68 (rough current exchange rate)

$1544 USD - so a $100 USD Australia Tax on the US pricing ($1449 USD)

True, but it's relative to income, since our dollar has dropped so significantly costs for products like the iPhone have soared, incomes have not. It's not a good time for the AUD, I remember when it was worth more than the USD, I think, 2012 ahhh those were the days lol

“Kuo believes the iPhone 11 is an excellent upgrade choice for iPhone 6/6s/7 users”

...Does it come with a headphone jack?

Sure - but leaking numbers could be gamed as well. It's not like "leaked" numbers are audited or held under any microscope.

There’s no numbers to leak. He estimates. Another analyst says sales are down 15-20% from last year. They don’t know.

Rosenblatt Securities estimates that iPhone 11 preorders are down 15% to 20% versus preorders for the iPhone XS a year ago.

Even with FaceID being on the market few years now, I’m surprised there are not more, and more better looking, tabletop stands for iPhones. Whether they’re charging stands or just simple angled stands that hold your iPhone vertically so that it’s facing you while you work at your desk, there just aren’t many readily available options at retail. I had been using an acrylic stand I designed 5+ years ago that held both an iPhone and an iPad, but since getting my iPad Pro 12.9 with keyboard, I’ve had no reason to have such a large stand on my desk.

Time to make another smaller unit, maybe one with a cutout to hold a wireless charging puck. Stands like this were handy, even when using TouchID, as you could easily read notifications as they arrived.

Pre-ordered the Green Pro to replace my Xs as my daily driver. Excited to finally jump up to 256 as well, been on 64GB for far too long. The biggest issue with the Xs is that I have trouble telling it apart from the X.

Kinda surprised at the plain 11 version being the most popular in china... thought they were all loaded considering they all make trips to the US, pay for hotels, spends hordes of money at outlet malls, wear only designer labels!? I guess maybe cuz they "save" money on the "cheaper" phone?

Who is "they"? You do understand that China, like any country (including even Saudi Arabia) has a lot more poor and middle-class people than super-rich people, right?
You do realize that Crazy-Rich Asians was a COMEDY movie, not a documentary?

This is what I've used for my iPhone X.
