I can't believe so many people are arguing over the colors.
Once you put a case on it you're not going to notice it much, if at all.
And if you don't like Midnight Green, which I don't care for either, well then you still have 3 others choices.
If you don't like those other choices then throw a skin on it or a case.
There are options people. :)
Buy the one that best suits you and then ... move on..... lol

I wonder how many of the people complaining about the colors aren't even intending on buying one, Pro or non Pro. SMH.

I won't be buying one, not because of the color choice, but because the 256GB iPhone Pro is $2000 Aussie dollars! Yikes! Maybe if I win this weeks Powerball Lottery..... hmmm, better get my ticket it in. Got my eye on that silver iPhone 11 Pro. ;)

Clear cases have been available for years, solution to the problem.

Overcharging for tech that will be replaced in a year, Apple says either get an Android phone or wait a few months to a year and get it on the used market or previous generation model.

We all know since 2017 that new iPhones have a Notch so...

A bold assumption, not all know that iPhones since 2017 have a notch. Just because MR forum members are tech enthusiasts does not mean the average person knows or is following tech companies development. Some may believe it is part of the wallpaper.

I do not like those washed out pastel colors for iphone 11 but on the other hand that midnight green for the pro models is really neat.

Even if you your tax included, it’s still significantly cheaper than in EU!

They didn’t drop anything, they simply passed that £50 price drop of the iPhone 11 onto the customers who want to buy the iPhone 11 Pro which increased in price by £50 here in the UK which is a disgrace. Instead of absorbing the cost themselves they are forcing it onto those who purchase the higher end model.

Even with the US sales tax it is still cheaper than here in Europe.
[doublepost=1568639833][/doublepost]I think the new colour coded camera glass makes the phones a lot uglier and harder to match with cases especially the gold and white versions. The midnight green and space grey would be the only options if I was purchasing this year.

Not really... Here's a graph showing prices with tax in US (CA) and UK and NL:

So the iPhone Pro base model is only $54 more expensive in NL and $84 in UK. With today's exchange rates.

*Update:
Here's the data:
US-CA
$ 999 Apple's Price
$ 77 CA Sales Tax
$ 1,076 Total

UK
$ 1,084 Apple's Price
$ 217 UK VAT
$ 1,301 Total

NL
$ 1,054 Apple's Price
$ 221 NL VAT (btw)
$ 1,275 Total

When I feel I need a change with my iPhone, I just buy a colorful case. Just picked a red one, and might get a dark green & gold case at some point too.

If folks want the latest color phone, that’s fine. Also, the 11 being $50 probably helps too.

That’s a whopping $200 difference, don’t you see?

I doubt that’s the case. The new colour are hideous.

Yes, but your opinion is not the world opinion. It’s just your opinion. One among billions, you imagine how much value it has by yourself.

Will my brand new £1200 phone fall to pieces in a few months because it had "production issues"? Yes, this is a concern thank you.

Production issue means, the phones that comes out of the factory work, but the factory put out less phones then expected. That’s all.

The midnight green "production issues" worry me. Is this the beginning of greengate? Will the bodies of these devices deteriorate rapidly?

I'm an industrial designer by profession. This probably just means this color is newer and their yield rate is lower until they get things dialed in and they can both fully meet demand and satisfy their high QC standards. I doubt a different color paint actually affects quality of the part.

Apple doesn't break out sales of phones anymore - not in total, nor by model/color. So everyone is speculating and nobody's take is a bad one.

I'll just say this. Apple has a history of marketing 'scarcity'. There's no reason to think they wouldn't try it now. After all, isn't this post free marketing in the name of scarcity?

They may not report sales but doesn’t stop analysts leaking out the sales figures.

I hope they keep the midnight green as a permanent color from this point forward and add it to other devices. Would love a midnight green macbook or ipad.

Doesn't this have to do with the currency being weak over there currently?

In the states tax on a $1000 phone comes out to ~$100 depending on where you live. So essentially each phone is $1100 instead of the $1000 that is advertised.

The currency has weakened, but Tim Cook was speaking not long ago saying that Apple would absorb some of the cost so that prices in other international markets outside the US would being paying ridiculous pricing.

Nah it mainly has to do with Apple being greedy.

Apple making up for the trashing they are getting for their European tax dodging efforts.
