Will my brand new £1200 phone fall to pieces in a few months because it had "production issues"? Yes, this is a concern thank you.

yes it will fall apart, and apple hasnt tested the production of its devices - they just started to throw out every brick the machines spit out.

COME ON ... thats all fake for attention. foxconn has mastery in iphone production. you should worry that that brick doesnt slide out of your hand which is more likely than all the stuff we are talking about!

It’s funny I’ve rarely heard one person pronounce the X or Xs/Xr correctly... it’s hilarious and drives me crazy like I’ve got to correct random people who are talking about those phones

How they pronounce it really matters to you...

Color... a deciding factor on spending 1000$. World goes to **** ;)

Well, some people decide on spending a few extra $1000-2000 for custom colors on a car, SUV, or sports car for what is already a 10's of thousands of dollars purchase. As with a car, they already decided they were buying an iPhone, and color choice IS an option they can decide on. If a color is more attractive to them, so much the better for sealing the purchase.

If your car color choices were only Space gray, White, or Gold, wouldn't you like to have some other choices? Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi have all introduced colors to their products with good sales interest and purchasing, so why not if it helps sell your product? Apple is giving people choice and we can see its paying off.

BTW, check the "What color iPhone 11 etc." threads and ask posters there if color was a "deciding factor" on spending $1000.

Don't think the new iPhones are doing well at all in Australia. Still get one to be delivered on 20th from Apple Store or any phone carriers here.

Same here in EU. The prices are just way to high.
Can you imagine, the Note 10 costs €850 here and IPhone 11 costs €810.

i have gotten space grey/for every iPhone I’ve had. First time I’m deviating form that (for the gold of all things lol)

I tried gold once, and I liked it but went back to space grey to match my ipads and apple watch. Color isn't that important to me tbh.

Edit: lol my ipad says silver below but its actually space grey. have to change that.

I doubt that’s the case. The new colour are hideous.

Yes, but not everyone will have the same opinion as you and me. That and (anecdotally) I've seen a fair number of people purchase phones in colours they didn't necessarily want because it was different (e.g. buying the rose gold iPhone because it was a new colour even when they preferred silver/space grey).

I would compare that midnight green looks against my green Xperia Z5 from 2015 once arrived. It have same smooth matte glass too.

Apple pushes gold last year. They push and promote green this year. It’s not a surprise. I’m guessing night mode and cameras are more of a factor. But this is assuming that demand can somehow be measured in a few days. Apples shipping times online don’t mean much.

Glad I’m not the only one with the question “color?” on their mind. My mind is blown right now just by reading this.

I’m upgrading because of all the new cameras. I travel often and take a lot of pictures so I want the best photos I can possibly get all the time. The plus 5 hours battery life is the second reason I’m upgrading, and third reason is the unique dual video recording system.

I too am upgrading mainly because of the camera and extra battery life, but new gorgeous midnight green color is just an icing on a cake.

There is nothing wrong with wanting you brand new $1k device to stand out a bit from the rest of the crowd. Space Gray is feeling drab and boring after 10 years of same old. Yes, us humans are vain creatures, and yes colors are important. It's never just about a pure utilitarian value.

"New Colors Cited as Key Influencing Factor"? How can they know? Just because midnight green might show up in the stats as a very popular or even the most popular colour choice doesn't mean that is the reason those people bought/upgraded. It could equally well be that most or all of those people were attracted by some other feature and when pre-ordering thought "I usually choose space grey (or whatever) but this time I really like the look of the green so I'll give that a go for a change" so basically a case of "I'm buying it for <whatever> new feature but I'll try a new colour this time".

I suppose that maybe Apple commissioned a poll amongst a representative sample of people who have pre-ordered an 11 Pro in which case maybe there is some evidence for the claim but I don't think that's really the Apple way is it to do such market research polls?

For me the reason was completely and utterly down to the biggest ever step-change I think in battery life between generations since the iPhone was announced but someone please correct me if I'm wrong there - has as any other iPhone claimed an almost 30% (28.6%) increase in run time vs the previous model e.g. 18 hours wireless video playback for 11 Pro vs 14 hours for XS (https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/compare/)?

I had a play with that compare tool, as far as I could go with the data Apple has loaded into it, and I couldn't see any other boost above 20%. The next closest I could find, looking only at the non-Plus/Max models, was 6s to 7 where the 7 claimed a just over 18% increase vs the 6s (13 hours video for the 7 vs 11 hours for 6s). (I do realise that many people take Apple run time claims with a pinch of salt but even if all the run time numbers are equally inflated each year by about the same amount the generation-to-generation percentage increases would still hold true.)

Well. Was there EVER a reason to spend a four digit sum on a PHONE? Except for the world being an asylum? There has never been a rational reason for paying that kind of money for a mobile gadget whose main purpose it is to send emojis over the air...

And "new colors" being a sales argument for a "new" iPhone just proves what all the critics have been saying for years now: Apple has become a fashion company.

The Midnight Green looks to be the best colour Apple has introduced since the Space Grey.

Agree. Close to British racing green. Think Jaguar, classy understated, subtle, distinguished. Apple already tried this out as an iPhone XS leather case. Probably a seller for those who don’t give a fig what anyone else thinks and who don’t dangle their iPhone around their neck as a status symbol.

I live in EU and the cheapest normal price for Note 10 is €999 and iPhone 11 is €829

Well, I have an iPhone 6 and I appreciate that there are some colours to chose between. I am not upgrading, I am replacing a soon non functional phone. I nice color can be the nudge needed to buy a new phone.
