My body is ready. Really like this 12 Pro Max but it’s just too honkin’ huge. I only went with it because it had the best camera array. I should’ve waited for more comparisons though since now I see the differences between the smaller 12 Pro aren’t super grand.

Anyway, looking forward to being in a smaller Pro model again that doesn’t sacrifice features just because it’s the smaller version. It’ll be like being in an 11 Pro again which was my favorite phone of the last few years. I just hope there’s a prouduct red version available this time and that they make the sides better at repelling fingerprints.

This 100% sums up my feelings. It would be nice if the upcoming 13 mini could match or exceed the 12 Pro Max camera‘s abilities without sacrificing too much battery life. My son has his eyes on my 12 Pro Max...

Sweet can’t wait to pay more for a phone that is just finally adopting features from a few years ago.

This stagnation and never ending game of catch up is what lack of real competition looks like

How about a fingerprint sensor. This mask and Face ID is a PITA.
I remember resisting FaceID for so long because I liked TouchID.

I got my 11 Pro Max in late 2019 and fell in love with FaceID. I loved it, thought it was the best thing ever. Then all of a sudden a few months into 2020 we have to start wearing masks, which breaks FaceID.

It was like the world said "Enjoying your new toy? Too bad. YOINK!"

I'd be surprised it the Pro models don't get 120 Hz this year. Though I'm skeptical that Apple with do anything to the notch until they can put it behind the display.

Why would they do that?
The 12Mini hasn’t sold very well, why on earth would they make an even more expensive and complicated version of it that’ll sell even less?
I wouldn't get the mini if I were to get an iPhone 12 simply because the specs suck. Currently, I am using an 8 Plus. They had a 2020 phone with the battery capacity that's even lower than the 8 Plus. Having already gotten used to the duration of my 8 Plus through the day, I can't go back to adapt to anything lower. The mini needs to have a battery that's better than the 8 Plus or the XR.

Frankly, I can't trust iOS's software battery management given on how slow it takes Apple to take note of the problem and fixes it.

No where near as bad anymore if you have an Apple Watch. Such a great improvement.

A lot of people don't want to buy a dongle to make up for lack of Touch ID plus many haven't worn a watch in decades.

The advantage of OLED is it allows camera sensor to be used without a punch hold or notch screen. Tim Cook and Apple doesn't understand how OLED can be made transparent that can offer great level of quality as conventional OLED.

lightning? I thought it was gonna be portless on the max
Apple should at least put a USB-C port on the next iPhones, even if Apple is looking to drop the port altogether in the future. If Apple did put a USB-C port on the next iPhone, then Apple could drop their proprietary lightning to USB-C cable as well, therefore making it better for the enviroment. Besides its not like Apple users today don't have any USB-C chargers hanging around, especially when Apples other products include USB-C chargers, like MacBooks, or iPad pros.

What do you need a dongle for? iPhone or Apple Watch does not need anything like that to unlock the iPhone. Seems like tons of people are wearing watches now. Either high end ones or more and more people wearing the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch market will just continue to grow, as more benefits of wearing one come out.

In my family and relatives alone, amazes me how many wear the Apple Watch. Anywhere from teens all the way up to Grandparents. Amazing!

I do agree with you, that it would be nice if the iPhone used your eyes or had TouchID for those without an Apple Watch, but saying in the short term, the watch is a nice option. :)

We were talking about using Apple Watch as dongle for Face ID iPhone that doesn't work with mask on. Haven't worn a watch in decades and the last one I wore lasted a good part of the year on battery so not interested in charging a watch every day. Too many hoops to jump through that can be solved with in-screen Touch ID.
