Why would they do that?
The 12Mini hasn’t sold very well, why on earth would they make an even more expensive and complicated version of it that’ll sell even less?
The reason it hasn't sold as well is because everyone wants a Pro for the features, so you end up having to choose between the better size and the better build materials and features.

I wanted the Dolby Vision recording at 60 FPS, stainless steel frame, and telephoto lens; but I ended up deciding the that size of the mini made it still worth compromising those other features. Many people I've talked to who bought the 12 Pro wanted the mini's size, but didn't want to forego the "Pro" features and ended up going with the Pro.

If they made a mini Pro and stopped trying to force people to believe that a smaller phone has to be a cheaper phone, they would've had no problem selling more minis. As someone else said earlier today, nobody is buying the mini to save $100 over the iPhone 12 -- they'll just pay the extra $4/mo over 24 months to get the size they actually want. But a lot of people are foregoing the 12 mini because it lacks the features that they would be giving up coming from the 11 Pro or earlier, like the telephoto lens.

120hz display and better battery is very important.

My iPhone Xs Max contract just ended and I ordered a 12 Pro Max due to be shipped in 2 weeks,I wonder if I should cancel that ,keep using the Xs Max and wait for the 13?

it will feel horrible in 5-6 months when 120hz iPhones are out if I had to par gor and use another 60hz phone for another 2 years.

How about free top of the line iPhones for everyone, with free AppleCare for life? Will that satisfy you?
What a BS argument. Who mentioned getting anything for "free"? There are high-refresh rate AMOLED screens on phones costing less than $300 yet Apple can't put one on a phone costing more than twice that? I wouldn't be surprised if they software cripple AOD on the "lesser" models too.

They already differentiate the Pro models on number of camera lenses and (for the Pro Max) physical size; now you'll have to pay $1k+ for a display that isn't 60Hz in 2021? It's price gouging, pure and simple.

And what the hell does AppleCare have to do with anything? We are talking about device pricing here. If you're going to throw insults, at least come up with a relevant argument.

Last year I would have immediately picked a 120Hz Pro over the mini.

But after having lived with the mini for a few months now, I'll pick the form factor over 120Hz, over a better camera, or over better battery life for as long as they make one. ♥️

I wouldn't mind if they made it a bit big thicker though and added some of these things, though.

Just because he didn’t mention it? He was the first one to report Touch ID under the display
Which makes it more odd there was no mention of it.

The last rumor was someone who “heard from a former employee”

It’s expected and honestly totally acceptable. The Samsung S21’s screen can go up to 120Hz, but it’s a lower resolution screen than the iPhone 12, and we all know Apple does a great job of balancing the display sharpness and battery life. It’s about making different compromises, and 60Hz is still just fine, especially with the smooth animations of iOS.

This, until iPhone goes 120hz I'm using a Samsung device atm. The base models use 120hz but only 1080p (FHD) screens. The S21 Ultra (I have this) has a QHD screen that can do 120hz.

If anything my main concern for the upcoming iPhone is who is fabricating the 120hz screens. I believe other companies like OnePlus used the crummy lower-end Samsung Panels and ended up with weird green tints. However, my hope is Apple/Samsung strike a deal for the current S21 Ultra panels, as it is easily the most color calibrated, potentially brightest, and smoothest screen I've seen to date.

Either way, this news excites me as a tech enthusiast. Just please keep up the good fight and don't allow them to get rid of the charging port! I use wireless charging at night, but sometimes I need a battery pack during the day as a power user.

It's kinda crazy that we still have no clarity regarding the in-display Touch ID situation. You'd think Kuo should know by now.

We won’t know until the phones go into production.

kuo seems to say he’s not heard anything but others saying they are testing it while people like prosser and others are saying it’s likely coming. Will know by April/may i imagine

So it’s not expected anyway that we’ll get a much better zoom on the camera?

So get one.
i own one. however it's not the only watch i own, and often times then i go out, it doesn't. besides if you're trying to make a case that every iphone owner needs to also have and constantly wear and apple watch, you're not going to get very far...

Not interested in a 120 Hz display. Especially if it adversely impacts how long my phone runs on a fully charged battery.

Lager battery and 120 Hz with smaller Notch. DC Dimming and I could get happy with the next Pro Max :)

Sweet can’t wait to pay more for a phone that is just finally adopting features from a few years ago.

This stagnation and never ending game of catch up is what lack of real competition looks like
And people who prefer IOS could care less about those features being on android first. Those users will wait and be happy when they do arrive on the iPhone. People who are desperate for those features will buy an android phone

clearly the crazy sales figures for the iPhone 12 line says it all which most people would rather buy So clearly people are happy With what apple offers.

It is looking like my s6 & 12P will get outdated real soon this year. Hopefully the improvements are massive.

Man I love these kinds of posts... brings out all the whiners!! Waaaaa noctch, waaaaaa no touch ID, waaaaaaa smaller phone doesn't get the upgraded items, waaaa waaaaa waaaa!!!

Do those that use other platforms whine as much as apple babies do?

Every iPhone I have ever owned did exactly what I wanted it to do. When the next phone is better upon release I get that phone and it does exactly what I want it to do. People act like the iPhone is the most important thing in their lives.... for me it's just another tech item I use until I want a new tech device and then I move on. If you want the best apple has to offer sometimes you'll just have to spend the $$ to get the phone that has those options. Don't like the huge phones? buy something else.... if it doesn't have image stabilization or the screen you want oh well.
