No one ever needs 1tb option it’s pointless, the only reason apple will up sell if they give it more ram like the iPads because people will spend more to get higher ram
I'm sure there will also be a ton of Apple showing how the iPhones 13 Pro can do movie-level videos and editing and will allude to how this makes it worth getting 512GB-1TB.

But don't get fooled -Apple could give us the worlds fastest chip and a $40.000 camera in the iPhones 12. At the end of the day, it's still just iOS with all the same limitations and lack of pro-level apps that the iPad is also held back by.

All that HDR and Dolby and God-knows-what is fine and high value. But without pro apps it's mostly pointless and just a dumb flex to have such power just to shoot some amazing photos on your vacation or for your socials.

They won’t increase the base iPhone price again this year. It already got a $100 bump last year.

YES! Finally! 128GB should be base model all the way!

Ps: Who in the crazy world needs a 1TB phone in their pocket?
I have lots of data, purchased/personal/professional, and can easily fill multiple TB. So if I can have as much of my data as possible, or all, in my pocket, why not? For one, it would act as another backup. Second, it could allow me to have access to all my data at any time any place, with no reliance on internet connection, no data plan usage, no time spent downloading/buffering, and no subscription required.
Edit- and no having to entrust my data to a company.

Despite what some rumors have been floating around, I do fear the prices of the Pro's will be raised ...thinking $100 compared to last year on most models. MAYBE the Mini, "regular" 13 models might stay the same? Just guessing of course.

(12 Pro Max 256 last year 1,199.00, 13 Pro Max 256GB this year $1,299.00)

*They will do it because...well they can - it will still sell. Plus blame on chip shortages. The classic supply & demand, ugh)
ah yes a $10 chip increase so they will raise prices by $100....

I hugely disagree. 699 for the mini is considerably overpriced compared to what rival manufacturers are putting out with better specs. Yes you'll always get a premium for an Apple device, but this should be somewhere around the 499 mark IMO.
for me its too low on price for what it represents...i mean premium nowdays with the latest SoC are starting from $600, but you get a huge device. $699 nowadays means almost nothing. If for you its too much why you take it, if the rivals offers you a better specs?! People should always buy what they afford and what they consider the best price for themselves

Placing my bet that iPhone 13 128GB will come in at the same price as current iPhone 12 128GB. This way they can raise the price of entry yet make it seem on the surface that it is not a price hike. This hides the need to raise prices due to component costs. Smart move.

If this pans out they lose the very important marketing bullet point that they LOVE using: same great price of $XXX

And if the 12 series sticks around we'll see a starting price for a base 12 at 699 and base 13 (if base is 128) at 850. That feels like quite the gap.

And that is how Apple updates every year when it's not a redesign.
Throw in extra storage, some camera improvements, new colours, same price and boom there's your new iPhone.

Given the success and sheer volume of iPhones sold, it's difficult to deviate from this strategy.

As most of you know, there have been rumors of potential price increases on the phones this year due to the global chip shortage. I still believe that’s possible. Apple may raise the amount of RAM to absorb some of the negativity of a price increase on the non-Pro 13. “Yeah, it’s more expensive, but it’s also more storage.” The 12 also sold so well that Apple themselves may be seeing this as a bit of an off year for phones and expect sales to be lower. A majority of consumers change every 2 years, so a great year is generally followed by an “off” year. Introduce a price increase now so that people are used to it come the more exciting 14 models.

Wow, so now we know storage options too… not sure it’s worthwhile my time to follow the event on Tuesday, maybe just read the summary here on MR, new features as rumored are lame anyway…

There will probably be a price adjustment next year when the mini is dropped.

I hope this is true as I really begrudge paying the extra to $ for the upgrade to 128gb when the extra cost to Apple is negligible.

Absolute apple fan here, but if my iPhone X has 256gb.. it’s four years old now.. memory is so much cheaper now in 2021.. how Apple even sells a 64 or 128gb phone that now shoots 4k video with no memory card still perplexes me…
It has nothing to do with the cost of memory. It has to do with incentivizing consumers to spend more and maximize profits.

Yeah...unfortunately. 😒

I still have this old backup Note 9 from my brother. 128GB base storage, but that option on this to add 256GB from a pretty inexpensive memory card...I love that option. Apple never had this and never will.
*I know Samsung ditched the expandable storage.

Mini/Regular 13
They already bumped the prices last year adding the mini. The 64GB base tier is quite silly in 2021 so I don't think finally bumping it to 128GB is worthy of a price increase again.

Pro/Pro Max
They may be able to push it 50/100 bucks higher with the 120Hz. Maybe they can include the MagSafe cable in the box to justify it more? I hope there is something we don't know yet. It will still sell either way, but I hate to think the price of 1TB Pro Max.
