Base model Pro pricing is going to be extremely interesting. As will the base storage. Most likely $1099 and 256 GB. Will the market take to it?
I'm starting to think the iPhone 14 Max might start at either $999 or $1099 and the Pro Max will see a significant price bump.

This is the iPhone I will skip. Not enough to warrant an upgrade and iOS16 hasn't proven to be 'far out' either. Naturally everyone will assume iPhone 15 will be a landmark device and probable change in form factor. I'll wait until then.

£1,149 (or more?) going by the most recent MBA and MBP prices, the $ is historically strong at the moment. Unless we do get a VAT cut to 15%...
The moment anyone more-or-less seriously started talking about a VAT cut will have undermined sales of significant cost items. Anyone who isn't rich enough to ignore a 5% reduction in VAT, and is able, will be putting off purchases until there is a VAT cut. (Or it is categorically ruled out.)

If I were in the market for a new iPhone, I'd delay. (Unless I thought a falling pound might end up seeing price rises even on newly launched products.)

14PM for me. The camera system sounds like it could be pretty storage intensive, so 256gb probably makes sense.

Upgrading for the camera, so i’m happy with every “better camera!” report.
Lucky/happy you! I'm using the camera to do the 2FA (2D barcode) login for the banking application, apart from that I probably take about 2 photos per month. Nevertheless, I 'd also like a faster CPU and a notchless phone, but would rather not have to pay for camera upgrades....:-(

H.

Well, everything comes at a cost I guess. I'm sure Apple's sales & marketing departments know pretty well what is the pain threshold. I will be ok if the price of iPhone 14 Pro goes up 20-25% compared to last year, but I'll be unwilling to pay beyond that.
So you'd be willing to spend $1,249/£1,199 for a base 14 Pro? Yikes...

No such camera upgrades for the non-Pros.

So, here’s hoping the iPhone 14 stays the same price (in USD) as the iPhone 13, with the new iPhone 14 Plus $100 more.

It bothers me how these articles are written.

Some aspects of the iPhone 14 are reported as fact:

- "The iPhone 14 Pro models will offer 48-megapixel and 12-megapixel photo output options"
- "the 48-megapixel lens is going to be limited to the iPhone 14 Pro models"

while others are stated as rumors and speculation:

- "Apple is rumored to be using a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor on the main Wide camera"
- "... while standard iPhone 14 models expected to get a standard 12-megapixel camera lens..."

Considering that none of this is fact, but leaks and speculation that is often proven to be false, I'm concerned at what other speculation is being passed off as fact here without our knowledge.

The fact that this is all coming to the ultra wide camera makes me lose interest… I love having the ultra wide camera for those rare moments I’m standing too close to grab a photo of a large vehicle at work but otherwise that’s my least used lens. Inprove the telephoto one greatly and I’ll be impressed

iPhone cyber shot pro!

Seriously bored of the whole camera thing, who needs 48mp photos of cats?

Can’t they invest it battery technology, my iPhone 12 Pro is crap it won’t get through a full day hardly used.
And the majority of folks can barely take a good photo regardless of camera setup. I guarantee my spouse could take better photos if they had an SE and I had a Pro Max. You gotta have an eye for it, lightning conditions, etc

Both my wife and I noticed that the thing we lacked when taking pictures when out on walks is a telephoto lens. That was going to be a reason to upgrade from our basic 11's to a 14 pro. Now I think we will just upgrade to the 13 pro, much cheaper. In fact, they are probably going to hit the refurb store soon enough.

True. How often do you see a photo where something in the background is growing out of someone's head?

Digital has enabled people to shoot without any thought to running out of film (provided tehy eventually off load their photos), and thus obliviated the need to learn about things such as exposure, composition, etc. Digital tools have made fixing it in post a lot easier as well.
