Mine gets really hot when I charge it. Weird that this happens after 40 years of design and process..

Scene: Apple board meeting

Tim: We currently only have $64 Billion in cash on hand. Does anyone here really believe that is adequate? We need to cut more costs... I don't hear any ideas. Anyone?

Apple Lemming 1: We could raise the cost of the cleaning cloth! Or make a pro-version!

Apple Lemming 2: No Ultra!

Other Apple lemmings nod in agreement. Tim is not satisfied.

Apple Lemming 3: Six words. Apple Mac Pro Wheels Kit. 2.

There is an audible gasp from the room. Tim is intrigued. But not sold.

Tim: That is our least-best-selling product. That will not drive enough revenue.

Apple Lemming 4 whispers to Apple Lemming 5, hoping Tim won't hear.

Apple Lemming 4: Maybe because for $54,000 dollars, it's still slower than a Mac mini.

Tim's expression changes subtly. He whispers to an assistant who leaves the room, returning with two other men. They politely ask Apple Lemming 4 to leave the room with them. He does. No one sees or hears from him again.

Apple Lemming 6: *raises hand* What about this QC process? Is that really necessary?

Wow for real? I finally upgraded and these are the rumours? I have the regular 15 Pro, haven't had any issues yet, in fact its been a very pleasant experience, but I'll be keeping an eye out for this.

Looks like I'm getting my mother a regular iPhone 15 instead of the Pro then.
I mean I set my device up as a new device (then logged in to my apple ID and got all my contacts message etc) and have used it quite a bit...no heating issues, charged it wirelessly and wired. While charging and using it even my iPhone 14PM got hot.

I have no issues with overheating. I tested with Genshin Impact for full options with max brightness for 1 hr and it was not that hot instead of warm.

Anyone else have terrible battery life on their iphone 15 pro? I feel like my iphone 11 with a battery life of 73 percent is roughly on par with this device. Its mainly the reason I got the pro. smh apple.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve had my iPhone 15 Pro Max (the 1TB blue version) since Friday evening, used it quite a lot since then and it seems if anything to be running noticeably cooler than my previous 14 Pro Max.

Note: unlike what I’ve done in previous upgrades, I did not restore this phone from a computer backup of my previous one. I do remember, in past upgrades when I did the backup-to-computer/restore-to-new-phone, the new phone ran quite warm for awhile after.

As a side note, while blue was not my first color choice, I find it very attractive in person. Very subtle color, quite unlike the green Pro Max from a few years ago.

Between the poor battery life and overheating I’m experiencing, I may be returning my 15 Pro. It’s uncomfortably hot when charging, connected to CarPlay, or just listening to music and texting. When it gets hot, I can watch the battery percentage drop by the minute. Forget charging in the car. Always pauses due to heat. I thought that the 14 Pro had similar issues, but not like this. I hope all of you are having better luck. If you have any tips send em my way.
This is the first reply that makes it seem more like a software issue. If it's getting hot and the battery is draining quickly, it's very likely a runaway process. Hopefully that's all it is and a quick software fix is in order.

Outside of the initial iCloud syncing, I’ve had zero overheating issues on my 15 Pro Max. Nothing like my 14 Pro Max which always ran hot and the battery life was terrible - convinced those phones are flawed.

How doesn't a company as large and as esteemed as Apple test their products... between the garbage fine woven case and an overheating phone...

Yesterday, I mounted my iPhone 15 Pro Max on the dash for driving direction, and within a short period, it locked up with an overheat message. This never happened with a previous model.

My Pro Max gets hot but I don’t think it gets any hotter than older iPhones.

It does get a little toasty when charging but I’ve never thought my phone was too hot when using it.

I guess I got a lucky model or like everything to do with  it’s over exaggerated

As an iPhone 15 Pro max user thus far I’ve only had it run hot once and that’s while it was transferring data from my 12 and downloading apps and syncing to my Apple Watch at the same time. That kind of load I’d think it would run warm at least. Other than that it’s been cool.
Same. I haven’t had any heat issues with my 15 Pro Max after it finished downloading all of my apps and data. Since then it hasn’t been warm at al

The first thing I did when I got my iPhone set up was plug it in to charge. got this…

To be fair, haven’t had an issue since!

I COULD NOT TAKE THE HEAT IT WAS PRODUCING SINCE DELIVERY ON FRIDAY. I RETURNED IT TODAY. THE GUY at APPLE BATTERSEA STORE DID NOT GIVE A FLYING F* WHEN I TOLD HIM ABOUT THIS. HIS RESPONSE WAS FUNDS WILL GO BACK THE CARD USED. GLAD I KEPT MY 13PRO GREEN.
What were you expecting? The sales guy at the store is completely powerless other than facilitating sales/return transactions. I don't think they even have the ability to take detailed notes of why you're returning. You'd have to schedule a Genius Bar appointment to get someone to listen to, and document, any issue.

Perhaps, thanks for letting us know. I am happy to input in the return a note of this maybe the team can investigate. Or I am sorry you experienced this. Empathy really. Not after anything more.
Empathy is so 80's and 90's. We're now in the 20's. Be happy there's someone behind the counter. :D
