on my iPhone 6s i have:
Night Shift and Dark Mode.
Night Mode is indeed a camera related setting that is only available on newer iPhones.
Looks like I found my next phone. I know it's wishful thinking, but I hope they have a headphone jack and Touch ID.
SE was beloved for price, size, and specs that were near flagship-level when released. This checks two of three boxes (and size is not ideal but better than the rest of the lineup).
I am far from low income but would definitely take this over the rest of what is in apples current lineup. Having a decent income does not make people blind to what is and is not a good value.
yes, need to know what camera. Single lens is fine if it’s the one from the 11.

They could shrink the bezels top/bottom and put in FaceID without having a notch. Since the screen lacks a notch and doesn’t go edge-to-edge it would be easier/cheaper to make. Keep the same size as the current SE, but you get a little more screen space and the newer FaceID.
If this rumor is true and it’s $399 them Apple is going to sell a bunch of these. Not just for people who like smaller phones, but also for parents looking to get something for their kids.

I've been hanging on to my 6 since buying it on launch day. I can't justify the price of an 11 so this looks like a great way to get the latest hardware at an affordable price.
Also I prefer the 'small' size of the 6 vs the 11. I tried the 11 in the shop and it felt too large, the 11 Pro was better but that's even more expensive.
If this comes to pass Apple could have a winner.

I don’t care what anyone says, I love the home button. I have used phones both with it with and without it, and I just find it so much easier to have it.
I’ll also take bezels over a notch, any day.
iPhone 8 is $450 right now with A11 and 2GB RAM. I’d rather wait 6 months for this mythical SE2 and get a much better deal.

If they come out with some dumb iPhone8 repackaging I’ll be holding on to my iPhone7 for a bit longer then I guess. I used to be able to count to Apple to be obsessed with thin and light designs...everything after the 7 got fat and heavy.

Sounds perfect for me. I’ll gladly trade in my iPhone 6 for it. It will meet my needs exactly. Yep.
If this fits into a 5S form factor but with the notch instead of a home button, it could be a monster hit.
No Face ID. Yes, please. At that price point, all I’d ask for is a better screen (than the SE) and headphone jack.

There are several apps in the app store that approximate Night Mode. They work with phones as old as the 6 if I'm remembering correctly. It won't be as advanced as what most flagships currently offer, but hey something is much better than nothing.
I do not buy this for one minute..

So much this... I think many will flock to this phone, especially with whatever deals may be had with the device.
I updated my daughters SE to iOS 13 the other day. How any adult would want that to be their main phone is beyond me. Now we'll transition from the tiny phone gang bemoaning no SE2 to bemoaning that SE2 is too big.

I feel like I can't even justify purchasing this yet, even though I have the money, simply because of how well my SE works on iOS 13. It would really be upgrading for no reason... except maybe for increased battery life.
