Hopefully the foldable garbage will be the $999/$1099 models and then the $699/$799 ones will actually be the better ones.

Dunno how many Touch ID haters gonna comment here. But does this mean Touch ID will unlikely come in 2022? That’s a bummer.
As for foldable phone… no matter how fancy they fold, they will never replace what an iPad can do for multitasking, let alone traditional computers.

Nope, not the least. I'm concerned that it will be too fragile, as the competition already showed.
I'm not waiting 3 years for a folding iPhone. I guess I'll jump to Android at some point when they make a proper folding device and then return to the iPhone in 2024. I did the same thing when Apple took their sweet time making a larger screen iPhone.
Why don't they just put it in the unlock button just like iPad Air. The tech is already in place. Whether it's on the screen or embedded in a button, TouchID is TouchID.
Under-screen TouchID is old news already, by 2023 it will be vintage.
I don't understand and I might be missing something, but an under screen touchID doesn't even seem necessary.
They have a working way of having touchID on the power button on the iPad. Why wouldn't they just add it to the iPhone? That seems like it would work fine right? What am I missing?

All the comments about adding touchID to the power button .... I'm guessing they won't due to cases. 99% cover up the power button.
If you wait till 3.5 years after the pandemic to add it back, then don’t bother.

10,000% this...and i am sure apple will add like an 8x or 16x optical zoom with f/1.0 aperture or other insane tech that only comes in the foldable Pro XL EXtreme edition. And all of the cool stuff will only come with the foldable model to force more sales...
