Absolutely brutal.

Feel sorry for the people who held out on buying a Macbook because of the initial report.

"Oops, sorry. Instead of this year, I actually meant 14 years from now. My bad."

Depends. Some are happy with current gen, some are not. Clearly a divide as to keyboard issues and such. I'd read the informed reviews on here, as there a lot of threads. Sadly, much is taken up by "Apple bad, Steve Jobs would do things differently & Tim Cook Sucks" & "Thou shall not criticize Apple lest ye not be a true Apple or Mac afficiando"

Good luck. I'm holding out for better specs , new processors etc., and new keyboard.
I just want the bigger screen.

I have this feeling the 13-inch MacBook Pro’s days are numbered. The new Air will be the new definitive 13-inch laptop as the new MBP will give Pro users the choice between 15” and 17” once again in Apple’s future lineup.
I highly doubt that. The 13-inch display size sells the most but nobody is going to "downgrade" their performance through the Airs to get this size.

I'm wondering if most of the people complaining about it own a MacBook with the touch bar. I don't, but I just checked out a video of it. It looks helpful and cool. Does it not work as well as they show in the video??

I hope you are joking, right? The touchbar is just really wasted resources, time and money. Even in the video it shows its shortcomings as you can do all these things way faster and efficient than that.
I do have it but hardly use it because its just useless gimmick that breaks your workflow for no reason. You just simply can't beat the speed with other UI devices. Its just another failed attempt just like the new keyboard.

Apple coming in strong with odd display sizes.
Rumor mills are just being more specific. Most 32" monitors in reality measure 31.5" or so. So Apple will most likely just call it 32".

6K3K translates to of 6144 by 3072, which corresponds to 217 DPI, which is essentially identical to 218 DPI of 27" 5K iMac.

I’m not sure about this..

Apple cannot fit a modern intel CPU into this chassis. Not. Happening.

Unless they want to use the i3 and i5 . I think this year we will see a new internal cassis design with a new keyboard and cooling solution. Then when those kinks we worked we will get our 16.5”.. hell we could see it this year still and apple will move to a 2.5 - 3 year cycle.

Don’t give up hope because quite frankly apple needs to do something this year or they will looses their entire mobile pro market because their 2015 will be as much as a new 2018.

Was really looking forward to this machine (with hopefully a new design and workable keyboard) so this would suggest we're getting up to two more iterations of the Touchbar models? Major bummer as they seem to be nonstarters for more and more people. :(
If you look at the original Chinese it says the 17 inches is coming next year I believe

Also the way it is written is quite vague so could be totally off

Macrumors def mistranslated tho

Dang. So does this mean I should stop waiting for a new MBP unless I want to wait 2 more years?

2 years away from a new Macbook Pro? wowzers

Apple has released a MacBook Pro update every year for forever. Flawed as this gen is, no way they wait three years.

I don't think Kuo is saying there won't be a new MacBook Pro whatsoever until 2021. I think he's referring to this 16-17-inch all-new-design model specifically. I imagine there will still be refreshes based on the current MacBook Pro design in 2019 and/or 2020.

the timing estimate for the new 6K monitor is clearly wrong. That monitor will be unveiled at the same time the next Mac Pro is. Likely (if we're lucky) a sneak peek will be given at WWDC this summer.

Isn't that what Kuo is saying? Second or third quarter of 2019. AKA Mid 2019. AKA this summer.

So does this mean that the rumored 16.5-inch MBP has been "delayed" until 2021? I'm confused.

Kuo originally had it in his list of 2019 Apple products, and is now saying 2021, so the RUMOR is pushed back at least.

Apple needs to quit these sneak peeks because all that receive one fail (trash can MP, air power)..

Nope. His record is solid and probably the best analyst on Apple products out there. If you go back to all the prediction he's made over the years, they've nearly all either come true or came our slightly changed/delayed from what he claimed.

Exactly! If there's one thing that has been persistent here in the forums it's the Kuo-bashing despite his ever growing track record. MacRumors staff know his track record and that's why his predictions become news articles these days.

Now, Kuo is not always correct and sometimes a rumor is true but Apple changes course (AirPower, anyone?). Maybe he is dead wrong on the 2021 date for MBP this time for all we know, but saying that he "throws crap against the wall" is just showing off ignorance.

I have a feeling they will put bigger screens in the current chassis size, probably 14" and 16". The 13" model won't die as such, it will just have a bigger screen, so changes it's name to 14", but will still have the same positioning in the range.

I can't wait for the redesign. There's no doubt they will release the laptops at the WWDC, which is in the first half of the 2012 but also at the end of it.
