I think most people here would be exciteded about this but a Mini with the home button and bezels doesn’t sound very interesting to me.

It would, however, be a fantastic display for all those cash registers and building atrium info displays. Having no home button allows an iPad mini to effectively look like a standard multitouch display with no annoying home button. Would be good for industry.

Man, and I thought AirPower was completely dead.

I could never go back to a iPad Mini after my 10.5" Pro. But I'd definitely be happy if Apple announced an updated Mini next Tuesday, especially for those who want an updated model.

I happen to agree with Kuo and have mocked up some of the products we should expect to see released. First, in addition to the updated iPad mini, we'll also see the iPad line embrace the notch in both portrait and landscape orientations:

The camera bump will join the notch in Apple's warm embrace:

The Apple Pencil will gain easy pairing similar to AirPods, and AirPods will in turn take design cues from the Apple Pencil:

And finally, we'll see the first Retina Mac mini!

I may be interested in getting a Mac Mini but I'm guessing the price won't be mini at all.

I'd bet on a starting price of $800 and the ability to option that up into 27" iMac territory. The base model will probably ship with an SSD so take the cheapest 21" iMac with SSD, then factor out a few hundred for the screen and extra aluminum.

God that would be so sweet if we get an updated Mini

Although if the rumour is right it’s a low cost panel etc then I’ll be looking more st the new Pro instead

With the current 9.7" iPad starting at $329 where would Apple price the the iPad Mini start, maybe $279?
Or would Apple make this an iPad Pro Mini and start it at $399 or more?

I doubt the mini will be pro positioned. I'd guess $279 is probably close to where it'd be positioned. A mini doesn't really need to be much cheaper than a 9", as they're really different devices. I'd buy a new-gen mini as a bag toss for reading and casual use. For me, the 9" is just outside of comfort size for that. I'd still buy the mini even if the prices were the same, as long as other specs are comparable.

Where's the link to his report?

And I see there is no direct mention of the MacBook Air. Good.

The MacBook Air is dead! Long live the MacBook (“new” gold only, no more rose gold).

iPad mini at $299 32GB, 12Mpixels back camera, latest processor, so they can keep it on the price list without updates for another 4 years.

It will have to have pencil support. No way Apple would update it without that. I’d bet good money on it.
I think so too, but thinking about the price of iPad at $329 it's interesting to think mini could be $299 with Pencil support.

The other option would be to increase the base storage on iPad and raise the price like they did with the iPad mini 4 a couple of years ago.

A10 Fusion and Pencil support seems plausible for a revamped iPad mini. Wonder if they would go back to the previous industrial design and the non-laminated screen as they did with the 5th Gen iPad?

iPad mini 1/2/3 design with an A10, I bet. Pass.

Also, mini buyers better hope they don’t go back to the washed-out colors from the mini 2/3 panel, those that only covered 67% of the color gamut.

New AirPods for the holiday season would be wonderful. I've been holding off on a pair (plus the AirPower) for months and am ready to pull the trigger!

I was too and then bought them anyway. The rumors have basically pointed to the charging case and maybe hey siri...and nothing on their core functionality....as headphones. Didn't seem like a major redesign to me.

I was highly hoping for a mini update, but youre kind of right. Im not sure whether Id go for a new mini over one of the new pro models without a home button. Might depend on if there is pencil support or not. One more week to find out!

I'm kind of tired of Apple doing low cost. Inevitably that just means the smaller (physically) products are crappy, and then it gives them an excuse to sell that crappy low cost product unchanged for years.

Used to be that Apple only did high end, regardless of physical size, and you could count on solid upgrades on a regular basis.

I get it, they want to make products more accessible to more people, and that's a good thing, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Just seems like too much fragmentation and too much of an excuse to let certain products languish way, way, way too long.
