6.7 inch OLED price $1999 o_O

Someone should explain to folks on the internet that jokes are only funny the first 3.000 times
[doublepost=1560923605][/doublepost]
This is such a nonsense post. Not only that we are still 3 months away from the new iPhone that is definitely locked but the iPhone in 2020 is not locked in any way. Probably the final design etc. will be locked around feb-march so all these "predictions" are pointless as it could change many times.
Also, we all know that 5G is given next year and we all know that the XR phone will not have all the things so this is just a guessing if anything else.
Actually products like the iPhone are finalized usually at least year before reales. For many obvious reasons that given the condescending tone of your post one would expect you should know.

Agreed, Face ID was said to been in the works for 3 years prior to its release.

Based on reading macrumors for over a decade I came to believe from their various reports that design etc. is finalised at the beginning of the year when the product is released so 2020 iPhone will be finalised beginning 2020. Before then they will have various testing samples etc. especially when there is a redesign.
Probably slighly different for S cycles but thats to be expected. So Kuo guessing now could change 10x before we get to next year where the leaks and info becomes more solid. Until then it really is just nonsense. :-D

Hold on, am I reading this correctly? They're making the base iPhone display SMALLER? The current iPhone XS is 5.8", this report says the coming one is going to be 5.4". I am rather confused. Apple have never made the replacement unit for any device have a smaller screen than the predecessor, an exception may be some model of iPod or something.

I don't really mind, being that I'm an SE user but it just seems very odd.

I think it’s due to the XR also being OLED so the difference may not be much different and chances are will still be a lower price.

So if I want to get the only option of the smaller phone, I have to pay much more. Their entry price will be yet another skateboard monstrosity. I hate this big-screen trend that never seems to end!

I'm with you on that one. I've made my peace with it (I'd rather not have anything bigger than my 6 but seems like if I don't want a two year old tech phone that is what I'm gong to have to do and then pay high price just to get the one that is only slightly bigger than mine). Can't even wait until next year.. my phone is dieing now. But borrowing my husband's SE for the day (mine is having issues and is very random) made me remember more why I miss smaller phones.

Im using the 8 and I will stick with it for as long as I can, because I just don’t want to carry something bigger than that! It’s frustrating how they are pushing the size higher and higher. I mean the XR is extremely uncomfortable to handle. XS is bearable though, except its price.

They really need to. The standard XS is too big in my opinion.
[doublepost=1561131200][/doublepost]It should be cheaper too if it's smaller. If Apple charges more for the plus sizes then they should charge less for reduced sizes.

This is Apple we talking about. We’ll be lucky if they make it smaller and keep the price the same.

According to my estimates the new 5.4 inch iPhone would be around the same size as an iPhone 8, which is perfect!

I am ok with that, but the issue is the price. If before we could get a smaller phone for a better price, now they are just forcing huge boards on customers who do not want to pay €1100+ on a phone.

That information has been out for months now, keep up.
Yes yes I know we are getting an iPhone with a square bump and 3 camera lenses. But what about color options? Resolution? Refresh rate? Battery capacity? Higher storage configuration?

One thing that didn't make sense when I was rethinking this.

How they heck are you suppose to fit 5G mmWave antenna in an 5.4" iPhone? It would have make sense if Apple make 5.4" iPhone in the XR lineup, and support 4G, and later 5G without mmWave.

Even the best of Qualcomm mmWave RF module are quite large, comparatively speaking. They should fit fine with the iPhone Max Size, and possible the iPhone 5.8" size.

The 5.4", or the iPhone 8 size phone is quite a bit smaller, remember, SoC, NAND, Memory, Modem, Taptic Engine, all these are fixed in size. They don't scale to be smaller just because you have a smaller phone.

A combined 4G/5G baseband chip and 7nm will help on the space (and power) issues. Not sure who’s RF/antenna solution Apple will be using, but I expect they’ll find a way to make it fit. Or maybe the rumor is wrong and the 5.4 won’t have mmWave, who knows? But Apple’s pretty good at cramming a lot of parts into a small space.

Another yes to the 5.4”! I will just give my XS to my mom or something and use her upgrade haha.
I currently have a 6s and don’t want anything bigger. That a 5.4” 11S would be smaller than the 6/7/8 is huge. I expect it to be somewhat thicker and a little heavier but that’s ok with me. Instabuy.

For sure. I thought it would be about the same size as a 7?

The baseband Modem are already combined together with Qualcomm X55 and 7nm. Otherwise no one sane would be putting it inside Smartphone, other than for the purpose of being the first and showcasing. The RF Front End QTM052 shown by Qualcomm last October were already the industry leading solution.

It is not that they cant fit it inside the 5.4", it is just there will be less space for battery. Either Ming is wrong, or Apple has something up its sleeves.

It is about the same if not exactly the same physical size as iPhone 7 / 8. Very Likely thicker though.

Im assuming to compensate for the battery?
