Exactly. Samsung also had the hole punch design before Apple and now Apple are adopting it in iPhone 14. The S22 Ultra I have makes my 11 Pro Max design look ancient. Just look at the minimalistic bezels.

The only reason to buy Apple's phones is probably longetivity and battery life. They are very afraid to experiment unlike Android OEMs.

Also in my opinion Samsung does not cripple the S22 to make the S22 Ultra look good. They serve distinct use cases. Apple purposely cripples the base model to uspell their flagship phone. Now they plan to use their older SOCs on the base model to segment the lineup even more. It's nothing to do with costs as some posters here are alluding to otherwise we should see similar compromises between s22 and s22 ultra.
So Apple is copying...a circle? What next...copy a rectangle?

apple to his own. I wanted that periscope lens but I refuse to buy the max. I was happy with the 5.8 inches of my iPhone x and iPhone 11 pro... 6.1 is a small change but unnecessary for me. The max totally ruled it out.

I hope not. This is a big reason I am holding off of the 14 because I would love to have a superior zoom in my iPhone for taking pictures clearer than the digital zoom. I have had various Plus phones but the 6.1 pro is the ideal size for my use case having gone from the 7 Plus to the X and now a 12 Pro.

3x is not enough of an upgrade as I am already delighted with the 12 Pro camera. Perhaps my 12 Pro is going on a 4 year cycle!

This really sucks. I was planning on upgrading to a 15 Pro but really want the periscope lens.
