I was always partial to those glow-in-the-dark plastic things we'd put on our spokes, and the girls used to love those tassels/streamers that would come out of the ends of the handlebars!
If they put tassels/streamers on those colorful laptops Apple could call them the MacBook Teen!

Maybe you're looking for the word "effeminate" rather than "feminine"?
I considered that, but effeminate is suggestive of a male being female-like, which wasn’t what I was going for (I wasn’t trying to be sexist). I guess the easiest way to put it is those pastel colors look like they’re designed to appeal primarily to kids / girls / women. Nothing wrong with that, if indeed that is the path that Apple takes. In fact, it probably makes more sense than most men would admit to, especially in a market where so much tech product is and has been male-centric.

The pastel colors look stupid. I said this before with the new iMac's where they tease you with the much better, bolder color on the back (which most likely faces the wall?).

Well...no, not really.

"MacBook" alone would from my point of view connect to an uncomplex, straightforward, minimalistic and timeless design - just the opposite of what the multi-colour option means for me.

I think something which really expresses what a colorful MacBook is would fit in much better here...like...maybe... "MacBook Kitsch" ;)
Or maybe some editions associating to what the respective color means in the real world - what about "MacBook Barbie" for the pink one, and "MacBook Ken" for the baby-blue one? Or "MacBook (Finding) Nemo" for the orange one? "MacBook Pikachu" for the yellow specimen?
That would at least build up some suitable connection to those colors as they already are on the 24" iMac...
Maybe “My First MacBook”?

I think it's odd how hung up people can get on colors, like white bezels or external enclosure you only see when you're not using the device. I get personalization, but there's whole accessory markets to customize to your heart's content.

Jony Ive: "We've meticulously designed.."
dbrand: "..slap a sticker on it!"

I like the design but no black bezel space gray is kind of a bummer. I bought literally all my apple devices in space gray.

I've seen a few other posts about this and a few others have mentioned, but I think this rumored new device will not be a MacBook Air, but some other renamed device (maybe just the "MacBook") slot in between the MBA and MBP, which will replace the current 2-port 13" MBP. I think the lineup would look more like:

13" M1 MBA (same existing MBA body - will get updated to M2 after the M2 "MacBook" released, or maybe at same time) - $999
13 or 14" revised M2 "MacBook" (subject of this article, released in mid-2022) - $1,299
14" M1X MBP (released in Oct-Nov 2021) - $1,799
16" M1X MBP (released in Oct-Nov 2021) - $2,399

Way too late. Why can't these be out this year? Due to the pandemic, people are upgrading their computers in 2020 and 2021. By 2022, those who wanted to upgrade probably had done so.
Not me. I’m still clinging to my late 2013. I couldn’t even crop a photo in photoshop the other day and the whole thing rocks because the battery expanded till the point it presses against the trackpad and I had to disable it.

Today's teens want glitter; that's what I hear anyway.
Oh right, I forgot we're on the internet and everyone is supposed to be ANGRY ALL THE TIME.
If you think I'm angry all the time, you haven't been paying attention. But that's okay, I'm sure you have a life and you're busy not being angry at people for being angry "all the time". Oh wait... ;)
Maybe “My First MacBook”?
"My First MacBook: My Little Pony, 2021 Limited No-Covid Please Edition"

Now with extra glitter, to make guys named Ignatius laugh or even scream with joy!

There's your problem, you're using Photoshop!

<sorry, I couldn't resist a prime trolling opportunity!>

But bulging batteries...not good either. Hmmmm, on one hand, we have Photoshop and the whole selling my soul thing, but then on the other, we have bulging batteries about to explode and make a big mess, and maybe burn the house down in the process. It's truly a choice for the lesser of two evils...and yet it's so hard to choose!🔥

Personally, I'd love to see the MacBook Air with vastly reduced / no bezels, but with the colouring of the iMac it looks like that's the direction it's going to head...big fat white bezels. Not for me.

I'm still on a 2017 12" Macbook, and for a while it looked like the 13" Silicone MacBook Air was going to become the new Macbook, so to speak, by trimming the bezel size down and slimming the whole thing down.
