He was responding to the user in post #49 who was wondering how to delete accounts here. He provided a link on what and how that can be done.

My bad - should read through the thread first I guess!
Thank you for the clarification.

Administrator note

A user's post with moderation complaints was removed from this thread based on the rules for moderation privacy.

As the Is moderation handled privately? FAQ explains, users can use the contact form to discuss the moderation of their post(s) privately. They can also post general comments about site rules, policies, and moderation here in the Site and Forum Feedback forum.

Under our privacy policy, users have a default right to privacy about the moderation of their posts. Users can post about specific cases of moderation in this forum only if they waive their right to moderation privacy, so that we can explain the reason behind the moderation, which typically involves sharing information about the user's moderation history that we can't otherwise share.

This is explained in more detail in the FAQ.

I reported a post about a week ago, but nothing was done about it, had to do with Canada, it was a thinly veiled political comment.
As I said before, be less strict, be more open to harmless political/social issues posts, or delete all posts like the one I mentioned above.
It's just too strict.

The moderators did not consider the post in question to be political in nature. We don't recommend reporting a post that you don't think should be moderated.

My advice, screenshot everything because when the site admins say they and the moderators have done no wrong or not at fault you'll have evidence to throw back at them.

Screenshots can be easily manipulated @laptech.
Anyone claiming a forum screenshot is fake would have to prove it because the forum rules state if a member makes a claim or accusation that a fellow members post contains false/fake information, that member must prove their claim/accusation or have their post removed.

Be that as it may there is actually no point in faking a screenshot because MR will have access to the original and therefore be able to prove if a screenshot being used against them was manipulated.

Posts being negative or critical of Mr Cook will be removed. Hidden away in threads in this forum section are posts over the years from members complaining why their negative post of Mr Cook was removed.

The mod's will find an excuse to have such posts removed. They will claim it's either political and remove it because it's in a forum section that does not allow 'political' posts or claim it's off topic or the member is trolling BUT you do the same to any other public figure and the report will come back 'No moderation required because insults to public figures are allowed'.

I don't think that claim can be supported. For example, go to the political news forum and do a simple search like this.

I only looked at the first two pages of results (out of 12) and found these posts....

And that was just a very simplistic search to find people who wrote "Tim Crook", I'm sure there are plenty of other posts that are critical of him. However, if somebody makes a political post criticizing him outside of the political news forum, that's another matter. Political posts would be moderated in that case, regardless of who they support or criticize.

There also may be posts that are critical of Tim Cook that contain an insult to another forum member or other rule violation which would be removed on that basis, regardless of forum.

Or try to do the same of their marketing/PR department...

...or they can use "EU mafia" - I reported this but for the moderators EU mafia is OK. Do yiy believe they would accept for example if the same expression would refer to cupertino?

The EU Mafia example is interesting..

I wonder if using similar terminology for the Trump administration would be allowed?

I have my guesses on that, but no data to support a position either way.

As long as the post is in the Political News section, a post like you mentioned critical of the Trump admin would not be a problem.

Posts that are not within the rules will be removed. Even in the MR non-political section there are these (continuing on a theme)

Many people do not like Trump and therefore make insulting/derogatory comments about him would be OK in MR's opinion. Everyone is far game unless it's an in the public eye Apple employee.

Everything should be able to be said in this very thread, the sad thing is, you can't.

Two of my posts were deleted for no reason at all, don't come and delete something you don't
agree with.
What is this nonsense, really!
And this, days after I posted them.

Really frustrating that folks who are talking about other forum users directly, in a derogatory fashion, are not reprimanded for it.

If negative or critical, talk about issues (or public/political figures and actions), not other forum users directly in reply to them.

Updated above with new data

I often see comments like this that seem to imply moderators see insulting comments, and don't do anything about it. This is not the case. There are so many posts each day, it is not practical for moderators see them all, so we rely in large part on member reports of problematic posts.

If you see a post that violates the rules, please report it so we can take a look.
