Does anyone actually use all the stuff in their iTunes library, or have it just to have it?

I have 14,000+ songs, but I don't like all of it. It's more or less just there so I can listen to it if I or someone at my house ever feels like it. Some may call it AAC hoarding.

Nearing 1GB for me, I do downconvert my songs to 128kbps so you could say I already passed the 1GB milestone :D.

I have ... every song, movie, and TV show ever produced ... stored on 1000s of 2TB hard drives.

If you think that is a lot? ... I have also converted them to every language known to man ... you never know when company will pop by ... I like to please my guests.

That's impossible. This is obviously a joke.

I was just going to say....
I could almost consider myself a media-hoarder.

I am the same way. A few years back, iTunes had the Complete Depeche Mode, Complete Bob Dylan and Complete U2. I believe that I bought all of these back in 2007 and have listened to very little of it to this date.

I'll hear a song by Bob Dylan on XM and I like it and look in my iTunes library and see that I have it and wonder why I never heard the song before.

I thought that I was going to embarrass myself by saying that I had around 3TBs of music in iTunes and arond the same in movies and TV, but as the guy commenting before me has even more, my obsession does not seem so bad. It is rough being a completionist.

Music: 124 GB, 23,756 songs, 66.4 Days
Movies: 356 GB, 257 movies

If I downloaded my iTunes Match songs, i'm sure my music library would increase in size and change these figures though.

33 GB music, 4308 songs.

571 GB movies, 86 movies... but not in iTunes. All my movies are .mkv containers with various innards.

Still working on reaching that elusive 1 Year!

Thanks to lots of Classical and longer Jazz tracks my Music Match 25k says >200Gb on the cloud. Now if I could just find a way to get selections of newer music on my iphone/ipad.

Wow! I thought I had quite a lot of music!
This thread has blown my mind! :O

This thread is awesome! I have to continually clean out my home office or I start to look like a hoarder, so the only thing I allow myself to hoard is media. Since I stopped working from home and started working for Dell, I haven't downloaded much music. I'm up to about 20,000 tracks, 120 movies and tv shows. Not much compared to some of you guys, but it's more than I'll ever listen to.

Question though (and forgive me if this has been brought up before), but since I got Spotify premium I don't download nearly as much music. I pretty much only get stuff that Spotify hasn't added yet. How about you guys?

Figured I'd join the party. My library has grown quite massive over the years. Didn't realize how big until I started adding it up. It weighs in just over 7TB, closer to 8TB if I include Podcasts and Apps.

Breakdown is like this:
100GB of Music (16,200+ songs)
3.2TB of Movies (700+ movies)
3.8TB of TV Shows (5400+ episodes)

Needless to say, the AppleTV's in my house have a lot of available content.

@NZed, I recommend you rate your music. I have a hard time finding content in general with a library my size, I rely on ratings quite heavily. Very useful, assuming you take the time to rate them!

I have 10,000 songs on this computer but another 10,000 on my old comp that died a while ago. I'm still in the process of getting them now. I also have about 950gb of movies that are in a bunch of different formats because I use windows media player to play them. Does anybody know of a good converter to move movies to Itunes?
