Why two bezels?

I like the rugged look, but the main question I have is: why does the display not cover the size of the glass? Did they not find LCD's the right size? Or is this waste of space some crazy design feature? With the two bezels (the glass bezel plus the rugged plastic one) this thing must be nearly as big as a 13 inch laptop, just with a 10 inch display...

Explain how a relative close photoshot of a camera visually alters the look of how a device looks? It clearly looks like a square, actually

Hold your hands up to block out the edge of the desk and your brain should pick up the perspective of the shot just fine. Cognitive psychology 101.

Hard Drive?? :)

....- I have no idea how big the hard drive will be, it would be nice to see something in the 100 gig area........

Hard Drive??? I don't think it will have a hard drive. Takes too much energy and with flash memory so cheap, what's the point?

why two bezels?

Just wondering, why is there a second bezel within the rugged plastic one? Must make the total size close to that of a 13 inch laptop...with a 10 inch screen...

Until i see that tablet i am going to be very skeptical about it...especially because of the ergonomics...what would be the advantage vs. a MBP apart from the touch screen...also what about when you have it on your laps...it is going to be very unconfortable ergonomically talking...unless they plan an on board lever as buying an additional accessory would not work (at least for me).

Because the "rugged plastic bezel" isn't part of the device. It's a security mechanism to keep said device in place, instead of having people walking off Apple property with it.

Seriously?

The rugged looking case is most likely bolted or tethered to the desk simply so that the device doesn't walk out with one of the testers. In short, it's a security device, not actually part of the tablet.

it looks like the size of my mouse pad. I really hope this replaces the :apple:tv
and COMES WITH a docking station.

This is it folks!

I guess my question is why release a picture now? Where is the motivation hours before the event, not days? How does it suddenly appear? Is it too late for apple to really care is that why the person released it?

Hmm..
$59.95 for 2 yr contract with Verizon for 5GB a month
Apple iPad subsidized price $299

So this thing is going to cost me $1737 and i only get to use 5 GB a month?

Maybe if Google get clearance to use the old radio frequencies to provide free internet, I would purchase one for a non subsidized price of what $999..

Usually when I say hard drive I refer to both flash drive and regular hard drive because at the end of the day they both provide the same function; storing information.

No idea. Perhaps there's some crafty phycobabel reason behind it. If you had faith this was the real deal, then saw that it was in fact real at the release event you some how identify with it better - your faith having been confirmed?..

Yes, I've had waaaaaay too much coffee today (2:54 am Thursday morning in Australia and I've not slept).

exactly! with an hour left before the event, Apple doesn't care much. So whomever has access doesn't feel much threatened.
