That sounds very believable!

I hope they release the damn new Mac mini simultaneously!!!!!

2 wrongs here, while 97% of the people maybe more than happy with 16GB, there are people waiting for 32gb.

same dGPU, when nVidia released the GTX-850M few months ago, why not put the new silicone (which also saves power, besides more powerful) ..

Thus this leak is fishy, or just the most disappointing mid year update on long time

because one your going to have change the pins on the logic board which isnt much work but it is some for the 850m , and two why put an 850m in a simple haswell refresh , why not put it in the broadwell release early-next year so you can make that mac even more marketable or more of a reason upgrade for the people that own mid 2012 retinas or even 2013 versions . people will be waiting for 32gbs but industry standard is still at 4 and moving towards 8

Why put the 850m in a Haswell laptop? Umm maybe because they're both readily available and most every other laptop vendor is including an 8 series nv chip with their Haswell boxes. Plus, by the time Broadwell is out NV will likely have 9 series GPUs available, meaning Apple would have to either skip a generation or stay one generation behind from a dGPU perspective

Because even GTX860M is cheaper to buy, even for servicing, clear MXM module, than GT750M.

If Apple will not put in the refresh a new dGPU it will be totally illogical.

650M costs 89$, 750M 99$, 860M costs 75$.

Apple buys just card and flash of the card. Clocks and even naming they can have their own. Most important thing it would be if it would based on Maxwell Chip.

I have to add one thing. Someone asked a question how well will perform Iris 2 and Iris Pro 2.

Well, looking at benchmarks, and naming of the cards, and how Intel cards performed in the past based on that, we can see that every step in naming was showing improved performance.

So:
HD4000->HD4200->HD4400->HD4600->HD5000->HD5100(Iris)->HD5200(Iris Pro).

If this is the case with Broadwell - yep. Iris 2(HD6100) will perform better than Iris Pro(HD5200) from last generation, even on dual core CPU, and without the eDRAM.

My estimation is that Iris 2 will get around 2200-2400 pts in 3dMark11, and 40% boost in gaming performance. Which exactly coresponds with what we can see in gaming benchmarks between Iris and Iris Pro. Is it something we would like to wait? Not really ;).

But having knowing, that we can play games in, lets say 1680x1050 and medium/high settings, in 13 inch computer is quite nice ;).

imo broadwell's iris will be an ok upgrade since its just a shrink of haswell , skylake is where we should see some major upgrades in performance and igpu , since its a completely different architecture

Thats true, and Iris Pro 3 will be real beast. Iris Pro 2 will be in the middle of 3000's pts. of 3dMark11 scores. Iris Pro 3, with skylake can bring it up to 5000 pts.

Still I believe, that my assumptions about Broadwell GPUs are accurate. And I wish Apple would release them this year... With better CPUs and GPUs and lower price points...

32 GB will still be a stretch. While it would be "easier" to put in 32 GB because they're soldering the memory to the board, they still need to find the room to do so. There STILL aren't memory chips dense enough to build a 16 GB SODIMM, which would be needed to put 32 GB of RAM in a laptop using the new processors and slot-based memory. The new CPU appears to still only support 2 SODIMM slots according to Intel's page.

problem is the broadwell chips needed for the 13" and 15" arent out yet and won't be out till next year , which is kinda why i see an early-2015 model coming with the 850m then a late-2015 model coming the 950m and since there similar chips the performance there won't be that much complaining about the dgpu

According to recent reports, the quad core Broadwell chips won't be available for another year. https://www.macrumors.com/2014/07/09/broadwell-early-to-mid-2015/

I see how this could be believable also could just be mocked up in Program like Indesign easily Show in content Viewer on the iPad
which I hope i just got 13 mbp 13 days ago plus think 6 week from when intel release new cpu to we see them notebooks plus no product code leaked yet

Hmm, if the pic with the specs is correct, then I am rather pleasantly surprised by the base version getting 16GB of RAM, but as I was thinking of taking a plunge on the current base 15 retina I shall wait until the update un see what is what.

One reasoning I could think of for Apple bumping up the base RAM, was that, and I could be completely off here, but isn't the industry readying for DDR4 RAM in a year or two? That would mean that the amounts of RAM included would go down again as the DDR4 would be more expensive and more efficient compared to DDR3?

honestly for you it would make no difference in specs , unless they bump the base 13" to 8 gbs of ram or something , because the prossessor only went up .2ghz , only time it matters is if you plan to sell it soon , if you plan to keep it for the next 3-4 years , your pretty much good to go

hold your horses lol , ddr4 is going to be a while broadwell won't be using ddr4 , and idk if skylake will , anyways its a while away

There's one company that made 16GB SODIMMs available to buy very recently. But they require a firmware update for almost all systems, if it's actually ever provided.
