A Dedicated GPU in the mid-range model makes me happy. If true, I'm sold.

Edit: wait, that's the same price as the current top end. So they're just adding a more expensive model. Not sold :(

Oh, I see - I was quite excited about a terabyte for "free"! So, three tiers like the 13". Makes sense. Hope this is reality very soon.

That's not a new desktop image though is it?

When they release a new mac of any kind, don't they always have a new display image on the mac's screen?

If it was a new image I think I would have believed this but as it's not I'm not so sure.

I hope it comes out soon but I'm guessing September or October, seems more likely don't you think?

Pretty sure the image identifies the OS that's shipping on the system, in this case that's Mavericks.

I got a retina 13" mid last week. Should I return it? Or is the spec bump for the 13" look minor?

I'd too be a little bummed if the base model came with 16 gb of ram since I have my late 13' baseline rMBP 15" for just about 3 months

waay to minor for you , .2 ghz refresh isn't going to change anything performance wise , return it only if you plan to sell it in a year or so , if you plan to have it for 3-4 years then no point on going through the hassle

They all release new stuff on Tuesdays :p

Online store here shows less than 24hrs wait til delivery. Doubt it is this week honestly
nobody knows when but i have a feeling its soon , and they may just randomly update it like the air , which had like minimalistic signs it was going to get updated

The funniest part is that people don't realize, that low-end, mid-end, and top-end with highest possible specs are available in every Apple Store for purchase ;).

But yes, system has new specs for new Macbook Pro's. Maybe not exactly they will look like we've seen on this photo, but for sure we will see them soon.

True - but the delivery times did slip off in the days coming up to the changeover.

thinking it about it from apple's perspective it makes sense why they didn't include the 850m architecture , look they know that a .2ghz refresh is not worth advertising and if they go onto release in a keynote , what are they going to say , " hey um broad well is delayed so we have a .2ghz update " and the 850m in the high end would split there profits , cause honestly if i have a late 2013 mbr with a 750m and you release with the same specs but with an 850m would most people buy it , not really , but if i release a broad well with 850m which increase the value of that laptop i want that device more now so i will update as its a new chip and a new dgpu , there building hype for the broad well update so that mass sells

we got that it may come the week after and then the day before , idk maybe but i have a feeling its going to be in a week or two , but not months down the line because an apple store that opened up this weekend in china would not be carrying that graph if it was to be released 2 months down the road in september

Early 2011 update for Macbooks was not mentioned in Keynote. They just updated them with 4 core CPU's and much, much powerful GPU's.

So its not dependend on keynote announcement.

i think using 750m for an entire year is ridiculous... they should at least put 850m in there, it costs less money.

waiting another 6 months for broadwell + 800 series is also stupid... the 900 series will probably be out by then.

what the hell is apple doing man... this is so disappointing.

the 6750m vs 6770m was a minimalistic change it was the same architecture with a higher clock speed , 850m is a big change and different architecture

It was not change from 6490M and 6750M to 6750M and 6770M.

It was change from GT330M to the 6490M and 6750M. That update was not mentioned on keynote, but by a simple change on store and site. And it was a big change ;)

but they also switched from core 2 duo(penryn) and arrandale to sandy bridge in that update

2.8 ghz top model. Or wait for 2015 model. Currently have base 2011 fully upgraded. It's really showing it age.

idk i need it for college in the fall , thats why im buying when it updates in a couple of weeks , if you can wait 7-9 mnths go for it , broadwell + 850m , if you don't really care about specs that much then buy now , regardless both will be fantastic

The wd thunderbolt raid 0 2 tb. Should give this Mac another year of life.I have my money on that. I truly rather wait for the 850. But won't if I have two

honestly there both fantastic machines , im just tired of waiting , cause imo id rather buy now and be happy then keep waiting , cause after broadwell , skylake will come out and it will be truly signifcant upgrade , and the upgrades will keep getting better , so the wait won't end in my opinion

What if Broadwell iGPU in 13 Inch MBP will be faster than GT750M? ;)

i don't think so , cause broadwell is a shrink of haswell so iris 2 won't be that much better , skylake iris 3 or what ever its called lol , most definitely equal to it or so

By looking at benchamarks both synthetic, real life, and gaming benchmarks, and how naming scheme shown improvements its easy to see, that Iris 6100 will be significantly faster than Iris Pro 1. HD5400 Should be faster than Iris Pro(HD5200). So its not so obvious ;).

Like ive said. Intel by trying to ditch the dGPUs from computers have 2 ways. Give a good solution of their own for iGPUs, and be at least comparable to current mid-end dGPUs, or... buying Nvidia. Second is really unlikely.
